We visited Aluxes Ecoparque in Palenque during our Easter break. We had a wonderful time. Park personnel went out of their way to make us feel welcome, the animals were impeccably kept, the grounds are beautifully landscaped and clean Feeding the manatees (who are all rescued animals) was one of the most incredible experiences we ever had and the keepers... I had an amazing time here in the middle of a huge thunderstorm. I spent about two and a half hours visiting and wanted to come back the next day (unfortunately, the park was closed). I could have happily spent more time here and would recommend it completely. The keepers and staff are really passionate about what they do and... More

If you are looking for a mini safari with absolutely passionate people, this is the place for you! It would help if you speak Mexican, or as the Mexicans call it, Spanish. They will try to assist in English however. There are many so many different types of animals and you even get to interact with them. I was not... More

Aluxes was so great, I went twice in three days! I started with the night tour -- includes feeding manatees, feeding crocodiles, and (if you choose) holding a baby boa constrictor. I went back this morning to get better photo ops and feed Patro, Mexico's largest crocodile in captivity. Every activity + tour they offer is well-priced, and well worth... More

Excellent place to visit in Palenque, much better than visiting a zoo, you may find many species that are protected in this reserve

This is a great ecoparque who do a wonderfull job of conservation and animal rehabilitation. Love that lots of the animals are in open enclosures. For $100 pesos you can help feed the manatee which was one of the most bizarre but best experiences of our trip!

We were really pleased with the park. It is large, well kept, informative, super helpful staff, and the animals are cared well for. I would recommend everybody who goes to see the ruins in Palenque to also go here to get an idea about the fauna that is native to the area the Mayans lived in.

Was skeptical going in as to whether I would like it. But attracted to it by the conservation programs it conducts such as Scarlet Macaw (guacamayas) reintroduction. But for 3 exceptions, I found the wildlife areas had no bars or glass partitions. All the species are local or at least southern-Mexico native. The entire park is set in the jungle... More
