Just go! Right now! Book a ticket and go. We loved, loved, loved our time here. The English speaking tours are expensive - $190 USD for 3 hours BUT it includes a guided tour into the jungle where only tour guides can take people. The jungle section was amazing because there are so many unexcavated ruins in the jungle. Our... More

No need to join a tour to go to ruins. I really enjoy to walking around the park, but especially climbing on the ruins, sitting on top of there for a while just to watch the spectacular view was the memory that i will never forget. It s felt so much blessed.

This place is a must if you want to see a magnificent site full of stunning temples and surrounded by a deep jungle and beautiful waterfalls. Allow yourself three or more hours to visit the whole site. One of the most famous temples is the Temple of the Inscriptions where the tomb of one of the most famous Maya leaders... More

Edgarguiapalenque@gmail.com. Contact Edgar!! Great guide, knowledgeable, kind and FUN!! Palenque is a must-see site. We've seen many many Mayan temples, this is one of the best preserved. We learned alot from Edgar and saw some sites you'd need a local to find. We crawled through an ancient aqueduct and saw bats!! We also saw 2 groups of howler monkeys.

Magnificent archaological site with incredible Mayan ruins. It is worth spending hours walking around on the site. Some of the walking paths takes you through the rain forest. The nearby museum is worth a visit, too. Bring water, sunscreen and walking shoes. We went in January, which was optimal because it was outside the rainy season and not extremely hot.

Palenque is incredible - almost mystical with being surrounded by the forest. I would highly recommend this site. It's one of the best and was our favorite in Chiapas.

I've visited all the major Mayan sites--each is magnificent--but there's something very special about Palenque. I first went there in 2006 and returned this month (Jan. 2017). Surrounded by the rainforest, it has a certain mystique which I haven't found elsewhere. Since the big tourist season was over, I was able to wander in peace and solitude. The first day... More

we came into a road block and had to pay a small fee per person to come in. This fee does not include the archaeological area or anything else. However the area is beautiful tropical forest and it is well kept. I did´t see any trash which we saw everywhere else we visited.
