About
Located on the doorstep of the Swan Valley, Whiteman Park is one of the largest metropolitan recreation and conservation parks in the world. Covering nearly 4,000 hectares, the Park is a place to enjoy life’s simple pleasures – walking or cycling on peaceful bush paths, playing with the kids or simply delighting in the calmness of our unspoilt natural heritage… There’s a lot to see and do including a visit to Caversham Wildlife Park, Motor Museum, Tractor Museum and Revolutions Transport Museum. There’s also Vintage bus, train and tram rides, playgrounds, barbeques and shady picnic areas – you could spend a day there and not see it all!

Whiteman Park Explorer Guided Bus Tour.
Really enjoyed our informative hour-long trip aboard the restored vintage Whiteman Explorer bus around the Whiteman Park complex today. Interesting to hear the commentary about the history of the former owner & the site, the brief stop at Mussel Pool & the mini-tour of the Revolutions of Transport Museum. Very relaxing. For only $2 each, it was the best $2 I’ve spent in a very long time!

Guided Tour on a Historic Bus
So many amazing attractions here. But there is one that shines for us and that’s the Wednesday Morning Guided Tour on a historic bus. One short hour with a friendly and knowledgable volunteer Guide (Rebecca) and volunteer bus driver (Colin), we get a better perspective of the scale and magnificence of Whiteman Park. Don’t miss this, people!

    Big day out
We had a brilliant day with our grandchildren a five and three year old, a lovely man and lady in the visitors centre gave us a map for fairy house adventure, the play parks where great especially the one called Pia. The lady in the lolly shop was lovely and so patient with the boys. My only small complaint was the barbecue was so very slow, next time we will take a picnic not barbecue. Can’t believe you can have such great facilities for free.

    Lots to do
I was planning on spending a day here but it was rainy so we ended up going to the Bennet Brook Railway and the Revolutions Museum. I did have a short stroll from the museum to the main town area and the park is quite nice. There is a large playground as well as a water park. There is also a few shops along the main road which was interesting like the candy shop and the photograph store. They also do have other activities like a go kart but it was closed due to the weather. The information center was also quite nice to walk around to have a look at the displays. They do have walks in the ware but it wasn't a good day for that so possibly for next time.

    A fantastic experience
had an absolutely wonderful time at Whiteman Park, and the highlight of my visit was the amazing tour bus experience. From the moment we stepped on board, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, making us feel right at home. The tour itself was both relaxing and informative, offering stunning views of the park’s natural beauty. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts about the wildlife and history of the area in an engaging and entertaining way. It was clear that they truly love what they do, and their enthusiasm made the experience even more special. What really stood out was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Whether answering questions, sharing fun stories, or simply checking in on guests, their warmth and friendliness made a lasting impression. If you’re visiting Whiteman Park, I highly recommend taking the tour bus. It’s a fantastic way to explore the park, learn more about its rich history, and most importantly, experience the incredible hospitality of the staff. Five stars all the way

We did the MTT bus tour at Whiteman Park on Monday. The guide Rebecca was very friendly and knowledgeable, and provided us with lots of interesting facts, and the history of Lew Whiteman. We learnt that he was a kind and generous philanthropist and an avid collector of items and objects from all over the world. The tour was really worthwhile and we would highly recommend doing it. The driver Ian was also really friendly and the guide in the land transport museum Perry was extremely personable and gave our group a great tour of the museum. For a one hour tour and at a cost of $2 each we came away with a wealth of knowledge and had a relaxed and pleasant experience, learning about the different areas in Whiteman Park. All these people are volunteers and passionate about the work they do!
Thank you for a pleasant experience on our ‘girl’s’ Weekend away!! 😊

We were very impressed with Whiteman Park when we visited as a group of six recently. None of us had been for years and we were all pleasantly surprised at how much was available there. Lovely cafe with good service. Very impressed with the friendly efficient ladies in the office where we purchased tickets for the bus tour. Rebecca, our tour guide, and also the gentleman who drove the bus were very friendly and gave us excellent information about the history of the park. Mussel Pool was interesting as was the fantastic transport museum . We could have stayed longer but a picnic lunch in the well situated long tables in the shade was calling! Some children were really enjoying the pool and water play available in the park too. What a great idea! Thanks to everyone who we encountered on our visit for making our day so special.

There was something special about being in the still of Whiteman Park after dark.
The Woylie walk was very informative and our guide friendly and happy to answer all our questions.
At $20 each it was well worth a visit to a part of the park you would otherwise never get to see.

A very enjoyable evening out! An easy walk around a secured section of the park I never realised even existed, the tour was really informative and our volunteer tour guide Paul was fantastic with the kids on our tour. Would definitely recommend, it is a different perspective seeing the park at night!

Arrived to the cafe and received overpriced, over cooked chips in rather small portions for the price.
Benches were not clean and left with food and dirty plates on them, despite the current COVID-19 situation.

Everything was closed so we decided to do the trail walk although because of VERY POOR signage became lost very soon. Land was very plain and nothing to look at. The said 4km walk soon became 6km, boring and tiring.

Will not return. Would not recommend.

Hello James, I'm sorry to hear that you had a negative experience visiting Whiteman Park. Some of the attractions were closed in June due to COVID-19. Except for the Perth Electric Tramway Society, all attractions are now operating. I'd recommend calling in at the Visitor Information Centre to make the most of your day and to pick up a copy of the park map. It's a big park, and there are lots of things to see and do.

Whiteman Park consists of 4,000 ha (almost 10,000 acres) of bushland, one of the largest suburban parks in the world. Whiteman Park is 22 km (14 miles) north of the capital of Western Australia, Perth. The park consists of banksia woodland, half of which is conserved. It's a haven for native animals and vegetation. Whiteman Park is located in the Perth suburb of Whiteman in the upper reaches of the Swan Valley. It's around hafl an hour by car from the Perth CBD. Apart from the Park's conservation value, the park hosts a vintage tram and a motor museum. The tractor museum is a feature yhay will interest farmers.

I took my three kids age 10 to 14 on the Nocturnal Woylie Walk. We spend a lot of time at Whiteman Park and had no idea of the amazing work which went on here. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and approachable, we all learnt a lot and the kida enjoyed a night time torch lit walk

This is a great way to see a different side to Whiteman Park. The guides are really well informed and passionate - I 'd strongly recommend but wrap up in winter. It would be great if the guides used red filters too - the white light torches meant our eyes never adjusted to the dark and probably temporarily blinded the nocturnal animals too.

What a wonderful way to discover the nightlife of our Australian bush and the unique little furry creatures who live there, to learn from the guide of their little lives and how they are being cared for and bred to save them from extinction, especially the woylies. We also saw many quendas and tamar wallabies and were able to feed the woylies and quendas peanuts, which they enjoyed very much. I recommend this moonlight walk to all who wish to learn about our very special wildlife, in their natural habitat. Fantastic!

It was an easy walk along pathways/dirt tracks. The guide was very knowledgeable. I learnt a lot about Woylies and Quendas, and also Dieback. Highly recommend this walk to experience these native animals in their natural environment. Wear closed-in shoes so the bull ants don't get you!
