Travelling to Cape Leveque requires a 4WD vehicle to negotiate the 100kms of sandy and corrugated section of the 200km drive. Some of the 'big' car hire companies will not allow travel on unsealed road, but we hired a 4WD from a local company Broome...More

Kooljaman, stunningly beautiful! These wonderful terrestrial like red sand dunes meet sparking white sands and are surrounded with Bright Clear turquoise Blue ocean. Could have spent the entire day on this beach exploring every angle of its beauty.

Stayed at Gnylmarung camping ground which is on the road to Middle Lagoon. This place is paradise! Run by Alphonse and Delmar in a very low key fashion. Only twenty unpowered sites so never really busy. Facilities basic, gold coin donation for the washing machine....More

The Local Community run the hatchery and show how they collect trocus shells and prepare some for sale to tourists. The shells and the reef are suffering from bleaching and climate change. From the beach here you can see whales frolicking in the sea. Dolphins...More

Flew in via horizontal falls. Great spot for nature lovers. Nothing is 5 star but is an amazing place to visit. Road to Broome is corrugated red dirt and you need a 4wd - wouldn't recommend it for normal cars or large caravans

Hi, yes - definitely 4wd. The road says no caravans at the beginning and people need to be aware or that for their insurance liabilities. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Erica

The sunset at Kooljaman is a bucket list thing to see. It's so beautiful. There are lots of other lovely beaches too, and we did a great tag-along tour organised by Kooljaman, that allowed us as inexperienced 4WD drivers to have a go driving around...More
