Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

The villa is not worth a visit, especially if you pay the full 10 euro ticket given the conditions in which it is located. Furthermore, under the excuse of work, they do not issue a receipt or ticket or anything else that can certify entry and obviously only cash payment.
Visit in Apr 2024. Main external body under renovation and therefore completely not visible. Inside you can visit only 6 rooms on the ground floor which are completely empty and with very little light as the windows are covered from the outside for the works and there is very little artificial light. You cannot visit the kitchens as expected. For this reason, even compared to the other villas in the area (e.g. Camerini, Rotonda) the ticket should not cost more than 3 or 4 euros.
To be avoided (even the opinions of other people who passed by the place were not so positive).
I read a previous critical review but then with 4 stars, something doesn't add up.

Cordiali saluti. It says a lot that my Italian friend who is a certified guide for the region of the Veneto and an expert on Andrea Palladio finds Villa Emo to be her favorite among Palladian villas. Purchased from the Emo family who held the villa until about five years ago, the regional bank that now owns it has maintained and upgraded the building and grounds. Marked by lovely frescoes and other details, it is an intimate setting that offers the visitor a pleasant introduction to Palladio and the lives of Venetian aristocracy.

Having seen a few of Andrea Palladio's Villas and loved them, Villa Emo is really lovely. While it's unlikely the majority of many of us will ever call a house like this home, it certainly felt very homely. The gardens are relaxed and picturesque, there was a tradesman restoring a section of the floor and it was great to talk to him about mending original works. If you love Palladian architecture, as I do, love classical architecture or just love Italian Villas, Villa Emo is a must see.

I wanted to visit this villa for years and finally made it ! And even if expectations were high, I wasn't the least disappointed:
This is pure harmony and beauty, and everything shows such good taste.

I cannot say much more than the previous reviews concerning Palladio villa Emo. But it is very interesting to see first hand the influence corn played in the economic's of the region and art of the villa itself.

The villa sits 7 kms from Castelfranco, which is in the Treviso province and can be reached by train for bus from Venice. There is a safe bike route to ride or walk to reach the villa, the local community completed a bike path/sidewalk along section that has more traffic.

This is a great stop over if you are traveling from Castelfranco to Asolo or Bassano del Grappa.

This villa by Andrea Palladio has a monumental staircase that rises to the temple fronted main floor. Not only is the ascent grand but it useful for threshing grain - very helpful on a working farm, per Palladio's original design. Inside there are Zelotti's frescoes that are so real the figures seem to be climbing off the walls. This villa has side buildings usually included in Palladio's design but not often constructed. Well worth a visit to this remote location for this fabulous original Palladian villa. A world heritage site. Check out http://www.cisapalladio.org/veneto/scheda.php?sezione=4&architettura=8&lingua=e Easy to visit this and Villa Barberon in Maser on the same trip.

This may be Palladio's greatest villa. It's simple and complex.

The coffered ceilings of the loggia and sala are beautiful and not repeated anywhere else in his designs.

The frescoes are wonderful and work with the architecture.

The wide ramp leading to the entrance is also the only one of its kind.

If you see La Rotonda, then you must see this masterpiece too.

This was the first truly Palladian villa I'd been to (outside of Monticello and the White House). The geometry of the building (and his others) fascinated me more than anything else - to have the square and cubic meters in relations to one another for each room is a really neat concept and makes the whole hang together nicely.
That Villa Emo was owned and lived in until recently by the family for whom it was originally built is amazing.
I think this is a must-see in the Veneto.

Absolutely gorgeous. The frescoes are restored to perfections and the stories they tell, are very interesting. A must see.
