Great stop on our journey between Oslo and Bergen. We'd seen a ton of tiny waterfalls on our roadtrip but this one is impressive. You, of course, have the waterfall but there's parking (that gets surprisingly full!!) with public bathrooms. There's picnic tables and two souvenir shops that also sell coffee and snacks.

Probably one of the most famous waterfalls in Norway because you can walk behind it. It is located 5 mins from Norheimsund and there is a large carpark with toilets and tourist information. Set just off the main road you walk over the bridge to the waterfall. There is a small shop and cafe. There is a path that leads up the right hand side and under the waterfall with a small viewing platform on the left which provides lovely views across the valley. It has been very well laid out.

We happened upon this landmark without intending to. The descriptions sounded impressive, but not that unique. But, why not; we're driving by. It was definitely impressive! First of all, it is not a trivial waterfall. Second, it had been raining all day for days: the river going off the cliff was not a stream but a torrent! It is like being under a large river that is crashing off a cliff. In fact, that is exactly what it is. I'm glad we stopped.

Quite a small waterfall, worth a stop (15 minutes) if you are in the region. Otherwise there are more impressive waterfalls nearby

Worth the visit, just to walk behind the water. Beginning to think that all Norway is, is one waterfall after another.😁

Beautiful waterfall. Good parking and a very short walk up to the waterfall.

Can walk underneath the waterfall which was pretty cool!

I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this waterfall. It was pretty, but there hadn't been enough rain, so the flow was a little anemic and not as impressive as you'd want.

That said, it was on my way to the airport, so it was an easy stop for me. Norway puts a lot of money into maintaining their natural attractions; and taking a picture from behind the water is a treat.

This place is about 1.5 hour bus ride from Bergen - do check the bus timings via SkySS app from the Appstore/ Playstore for timings.
Remember that the last convenient bus is around 7 PM - the actual last one is around 10 PM - which is too late considering the 1.5 hour journey back to Bergen again.

The place has one kiosk/ souvenir shop (and one more shop for something else).
There is a toilet as well within walking distance from the mainroad.

It is a bit trickly to cross the road from the bus stop (since this is a highway).

There is small climb up to the fall and a viewing point as well further up.

This is worth a detour. Especially at springtime when the amount of water is enormous. I loved walking behind it and see the fall from behind. It’s right next to the road, with good parking facilities.

Beautiful spot with so many great photo opportunities.

It is a quick walk up that does require a little bit of physical fitness. If you have mobility issues you will have some problems.

There are little souvenir shops.

Its great for a quick stop.
