You should go and see it yourself. You won't regret it, trust me. The only problem is getting there, avoid the boat from manaos or belem, is awful, take a plane.

You should fly to Santarem. Probably the best option is then a taxi (90-100 BRL) or hotel transfer. It is about 30 minutes drive
