Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived at the Afadjato town Saturday night so we had to lodge in a guest house, I must say the town is very cold due to the mountains and forests but also a peaceful place to live. We climbed the mountain the next day which was Sunday, this is the highest mountain in west Africa so getting to the top was challenging but fun as well, through thick and thin, we made it to the top breathing like horses 😂😂😂😂. Just experience it for yourself, you can contact Mike the tour guide @travel with m&g on +233554621459

This is a nice walk that doesn't take too much time. It is marred by lots of plastic water bottles along the trail and graffiti on the sign at the top. Although we did not need a guide it really wasn't possible to avoid having one. We paid first to hike and then paid a guide 20 Cedes to let us hike alone. The views at the top are impressive, and it's a good leg stretcher. It took us about 2 hours.

Your excitement gets tested half way through the hike.
You might be tempted to give up but you keep moving because giving up is not an option even though it’s a steep hike.
You’ll be proud of yourself when you get the experience the view at the top of the mountain.
Lemme know if this helped you.😊

We started the trip on the 19th of October 2022 at the Afadjoto tourist centre where we were brief of how the mountain looks like and how people have hike to the peak of the mountain and the time they used to climb the mountain. The recorded time was 15 minutes. So we walk to the base of the mountain to start the hike I started 10:01am and completed at 10:18am which means I used 17 minutes to climb to the peak of Afadjoto. It was a great experience I've had I was aiming to break the records but I couldn't.

My friends and I went on a couple of trips this past December, and I must say the trip to the Volta region was one of our best. We had the best tour guide too, but for him, one of us would've been bitten by a snake. 😁

I would absolutely recommend a trip to Afadjato if you are in Ghana. It was a beautiful, hard working hike, which was very steep at times, both going up and down. But the views are so worth it once you are at the top. A plus for it being the highest mountain in Ghana.

It took me about an hour and thirty minutes to climb to the top and I was drenched in sweat. My guide advised it typically takes from 40 minutes to 2 hours depending on your fitness level.

Quite slippery coming down because it had been raining earlier during the day, so I fell a couple of times. There are two sides you can start your ascent from - my side was completely empty of people.

I travelled from Accra in the morning via Trotro and returned the same day. After hiking the mountain, my guide and I took his motorbike to Wli Waterfall, and from there made my way back to Accra. Contact Robert if you are interested in a tour guide (He works with Tafi Monkey Sanctuary also) An exceptional, knowledgeable, funny guide, who I wouldn’t have been able to hike without +233 24 933 5816

Had an amazing time walking up the mountain with Dodzi as our guide, you can contact him on WhatsApp on +233555582478. He had great local knowledge and really looked after all of us. The climb is VERY steep but well worth doing as the views from the top are incredible.
