This monastery was one of the highlights of my trip to Armenia and is most definitely a must see attraction. It is beautiful inside and outside. The surrounding mountains are spectacular.

A beautiful 13-century monastery complex with 3 ancient churches is located in a peaceful valley not far away from rhe famous wine region of Areni. An excellent idea to end the visit with a wine tasting stop at Areni.

This is by far the most beautiful monastery in Armenia. This is definitely not to miss whatever you plan to see in Armenia. Next to it is a restaurant, but be aware that it closes quite early. At about 5-5.30 pm it was already closed

Most of the road will be covered by a car. You need to walk about 2 mins to reach the church. The road is very lovely and it's a must see place. Go for it!!
