Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While the remains of the castle are quite basic, just some stones piled together, they are evocative and picturesque, transporting you back to times long past. Standing among these ancient ruins, you can’t help but reflect on the impermanence of even the grandest structures.

The castle features two towers that have been reconstructed, housing a modest exhibition of old photos along with replicas of medieval armor and swords. While it’s not particularly impressive—especially if you've already visited the more extensive collections at Wawel Castle—it's still worth a quick look.

But truly, Ojcow Castle's charm lies in its location. The views are breathtaking, and it's clear why this spot was chosen for a castle centuries ago. The old photographs are also interesting and add a layer of depth to the visit.

Overall, if you're already exploring Ojcow National Park, a quick stop at the castle ruins (which won’t take more than 25 minutes) is definitely recommended. It’s more about the scenic experience and the atmosphere than the historical artifacts themselves.

Also known as the ruins of Casimir is this small ruin set atop a hill in the middle of Ojcow National park. It is a ten minute steep walk from the car park where you do have to pay an exorbitant fee of 20 zloty to the ruins. In comparison the ruins only cost a fraction of this at 4 zloty.
From the top there are lovely views over the Padnik River Valley which was forest covered and up to the remaining tower of the castle. Inside there were remnants of walls and towers but not much remained. There was a large well in the middle and we could not see the bottom. It was a pleasant little walk and there were some info boards including owls of the area and flora. There was a small tower which had a model of the castle and a brief political history of it going back to the 13th Century. A very enjoyable short visit. It is also a short walk from the car park to the Chapel on the Water. Note that the car park is popular and fills up quickly.

I loved every minute spent here! The ruins are great, the views impressive, and all of it in wonderful natural surrounding. It is especially nice if the weather is good, we were very lucky about it. The car park is very close to the site and the entrance fee is really cheap.

Right next to the parking lot, perched on top of a rocky output, stands the partly ruined gothic Ojcow Castle. Entrance was only 1,5 pln for students, and gave a nice viewpoint over the surrounding landscape, though as it is in ruins it is not as impressive as the nearby castle in Pieskowa Skala.

The castle ruins are great to wander around and see how it was built. Part was under restoration when we were there so we could not go up to the upper tower. The grounds surrounding the castle is worth exploring as there are great hiking/biking trails and many caves to explore.

The castle is now under re-construction (towers), but inside it is almost nothing to see. An old well in the middle and some stones bricks around. The admission is 4 PLN adult and 2 PLN child - better go for a soft drink...

On its own the remains of the castle are just a bit disappointing but with the attractions around it or when you are on the trail of the Eagles' Nests it is a nice place to see. Unfortunately we were limited to what we could do walking wise so the long drive there was a bit pointless. Nonetheless we did like the ruins, short walk around and the views. Kids enjoyed the short trip into the Polish history as all you need sometimes is a bit of imagination and you can have a good story telling and play. I would say though parking, accessibility and the facilities around are not very good.

A great place to stop, walk, look at living history, enjoy the wild flowers and take in the views. Picnic time recommended. Signs explain the area. Interesting ruins. Locals come to see the area.

The castle ruins are being absorbed by nature and the view from the castle includes also... a parking at the foothills of the castle.
