About
In 1939 Hovhannes Tumanyan's family home became a house-museum. Tumanyan, one of the most prominent Armenian writers, not only gifted the world with his famous poems and fairy tales, but also helped the Armenian nation during the genocide. You can see his personal items, manuscripts, as well as a peculiar rice-sized miniature sculpture of him. His heart is buried in the garden.

Hovhannes Tumanyan House Museum in Dsegh is a splendid example of a well-kept and well curated house museum. There is an old woman who gives a free guided tour daily except during Mondays. The house museum contains a huge collection of the artist's photos, poems, and memorabilia. Very interesting to learn about the life and works of a famous Armenian artist.

You are in the middle of a rural area and you find a place that has been seriously built and maintained.
You can read the story of this surprising Armenian writer and poet.
There are texts and images and very nice painting in the house of Hovhannes Tumanyan.
Even if attendants do not speak English they are very keen to help and guide you.
