Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic drive. One of the greatest I have seen. Worth quite a detour. I assume this drive will be best in sunshine or in a storm. On a normal rainy day like we had it was ok. We could see the potential with different weather. Highly recommendable

We have been there already twice and that is the place you wanna see again and again.
Must see for all travellers!
This road included in *national touristic roads of Norway*
How to get there : rent a car at Kristiansund airport and just drive direction Kårvåg .
There are parkings on the road you can stop and take spectaculair pictures , included Storseisundbrua( drunk bridge) and Eldhusøya ( view point) .
There is a WC, but neither cafe or restaurants in low season.
Must see!

The Atlantic Road is about 2.5 hour drive from Alesund and is worth the drive. The scenery is very different from the rest of the drive (we drove from Bergen), and ha the raw kind of beauty.

This road is actually out at sea. It is an engineering masterpiece which everyone should drive when in the area. Lots of places to stop and take in the stunning views of untouched nature. The people in the tourist information are very helpful.

We had a perfect day (we waited a day fro rain to pass). Took the ferry Molde, drove to Bud and drove along the Atlantic Road to Kristiansund. 104 km and only about 8 km of worthwhile scenery, what a disappointment. The hype from the travel magazines is just that HYPE. What a waste of time and money. Ferry and tolls added up to 1230 Krone for our 8 m Camper, dam expensive for half a dozen photos. This is our first disappointment in Norway after 3 weeks of travel with 2 weeks to go.

There are four large information all-weather posters at the Eldhuset café. It is worth reading these to learn more about the engineering. There is also a map showing all the National Tourist roads in Norway - they are all worth visiting!!

Definitely worth to see! You should go there in a warm day, closed to evening, you will see wonderful colors and this great road :) I have never ever in my life seen such an original road :) plus I know that there are some good small restaurants there, where you can eat fish 🐠

Hi, can you book a tour along the road when in Molde (arriving on cruise ship)? Many thanks, Cassie
Written 15 May 2016
In Molde I used the public bus. You can find the timetable on the frmm website The bus 510 runs on the Atlantic Road from Molde to Karvag and you can stop in the touristic coffe close to the famous bridge and walk in tha path around the hill, 500 meters length. If you have the time you can do it from 10 am to 1 or 2 pm.
