Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am very impressed with the research that was done by Adam to assist participants in locating the area or grave of a relative served in or was wounded or killed. The explanations accompanied by trench maps and overlays as well as period photographs of the sites added an extra dimension to the sites we visited. The hotels we stayed at were excellent being conveniently located to public rail and city centre. The lunches and evening meals were outstanding. Of particular note is the genuine commitment by Adam and Phil to treat each participant as an individual and try to meet their needs. The coordination of attendance at the ANZAC dawn service as well as the ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres was a particular highlight. Congratulations to all who brought this tour together. I am most grateful to you all.
Regards
Glen McAdam

This tour with Duty Nobly Done far exceeded all my expectation.
Each site visited by the tour was accompanied by very knowledgeable and experienced tour guides and operators. Each site was explained in detail with accompanying documentation and maps of the area and actions which took place.
Adam Holloway had taken extra effort to find family histories of the tour group pointing out places of family interest.
This had special meaning for myself.

The extra tour guides with the tour were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
Being able to be part of the ANZAC morning service with the tour was so very important for me.

Accommodation was on tour is top class with some time allotted for exploring
our location/towns.

Thank you Adam and your crew for filling a personal wish and providing me with a lost family history.

This is a tour many Australians, young and old should have the experience of

What an excellent trip !
The individual research done by Adam for the benefit of the WW1 relatives ( and the rest of us ) was so informative and heartbreaking at times that i felt that was was living the history of the moment !
Phil's narrative on the battles tied it all together!

This tour was a very personal experience. Adam delves into your family's service history to give an intimate account of their actions. In my case, Adam took me to the place where my Grandfather was wounded, while others in the group found the actions and resting place of relatives.
Our guides were amazing, Phil, John and or course Jeffrey. I will never forget seeing Jeffrey in full 1st AIF uniform walking towards us through Polygon Wood, an unforgettable moment.
One of the other highlights was ANZAC Day dawn service at Villers-Brettoneux.
The whole tour was seamless and went like clockwork, so thanks to all for a great bucket list experience.
If you want a tour with a very personal experience this is it.

A truly unique experience with Adam Holloway and Phil guiding us through Australia's WW1 battlefield history in France.
I was impressed by Adam and Phil's depth and breadth of knowledge and the research Adam conducted into our tour member's relatives experience in the war. He was able to identify and take us to the locations where they fought, where they were injured or died and ultimately to their resting place where known.

A well organised and enlightening experience of a lifetime.

Some of us also chose to tour Normandy to see the WW2 D-Day beaches and battlefields. This was also a very interesting and eye opening experience. Whilst few Australians were involved in D-Day, the contributions of the US, British and Canadians on that day and the weeks to follow were put into perspective by following the attack routes through tiny villages, hedge rows and the larger towns.

All in all, a great, full and well researched trip. Would highly recommend.

Wow what a tour. Adam ran a professional well organized tour. He provided amazing insights and historical facts that made this tour very personal and one I will never forget. I took my 15 year old son who described it as an unbelievably moving tour.
The depth of knowledge Adam provided along with his research on our families WW1 involvement made this a trip of a lifetime. I would 100% recommend touring with Adam.

Thanks Nick & Harry, What an awesome thing to do as father & son. It was a pleasure having you both along and a real honour to take you where the Gray boys fought, and alas, one was killed. You have truly honoured their memory. Cheers, Adam

“Yep lots of aussies out in that field”
Genuinely life changing trip. Very informative and educational, personalised to each guest. Got to explore both the French countryside and the most important historical sites of the western front. Adam is a great guide and storyteller, really bringing history to life. Would absolutely recommend. Only complaint is that it didn’t go for longer.

An incredibly detailed tour of the WW1 Australian battlefields in France and Belgium. Adam took the time to research family members and could pinpoint where they had fallen. Many graves were identified for descendants and details of the actions were fully researched.

Australians living in France added plenty of fine detail and local colour to the tour.

Anyone with an interest in their ancestors that fought in France should contact Adam to see what he can offer.
