Too bad the beach is closed, we really enjoyed the unusual rock formations and the sea roaring in. I like to visit beaches of different colors, and this beach did not disappoint. The beach has streaks of purple, from eroded crystals of garnet. The short...More

The beach is currently closed because of road closures. The sign to say the beach is closed is about .5 mile before the road shuts 😤, long way to drive for nothing! The park is open though

We were so sad to find out that Pfeiffer Beach is closed. We made an assumption that since the park was open, that the beach would be as well, but sadlly, not so.

We loved the beach. Beautiful and fun place to see the place where the water from the waterfall meets the ocean.

Beautiful empty beach with the two big rocks making it a nice dramatic scenery on PCH drive. Great for sunsets or just some picturesque shots. Dont miss the exit to go to this beach on the PCH, its kinda tricky to notice. Unpaved road leads...More

Absolutely one of the most beautiful beaches ever! A must see place to view a sunset at least once in your life!

My favorite color is purple; naturally this beach was on my bucket-list. While it was tricky to find and there was a small entry fee (sorry don't remember what it was), it was absolutely worth it for me to see purple sand. The beach is...More

Being a Florida boy I've never seen anything like it. From the purple sand to the smooth stones, the rock formations the waves are crashing through the caves in the rocks. Must see!

Nice road tr but a bit long and quite foggy, sometimes the road is a bit scary to be honest, but the view is impressive

I liked this beach but the reason for not giving it a higher score is that I tend to go for more pretty beaches I loved Andrew Molera beach, and found this to have a more rugged and wild feel, but still very interesting to see...More

No....I do not think it is accessible to the beach. I mean if you scaled down the cliff side maybe but it would not be advisable (very dangerous). I have been a few times and it is pretty rough and well preserved. You can... More

It is a 3 hour drive one way. You will not have much time to do anything but drive. A much more doable day trip from San Francisco is to rent a car downtown and go to Napa Valley. It is only 2 hours each way, just be careful... More
