You probably won't be alone on this beach. The road down to the beach is an adventure, and opens up into the parking lot. A brief walk to the beach affords you a treat beyond compare. Be prepared for strong winds...I have NEVER been to this beach when it wasn't windy.

The drive down to the car park is a surprisingly long one, but the car park was pretty much empty on the day that we visited so there were no issues with queues or getting a spot. The beach is just a short walk from the car park and it's pretty impressive. I had to do a fair bit of... More

Many visitors try to get to the beach but the parking is limited. You may have to park on the main road. After that it is 45' walk. We were lucky, and we found some very nice people who live there and they took us by car. The beach is nice but it is a bit chilly. Take a pair... More

A pretty cold beach, make sure to bring a jacket. The moment the waves hits the rock is an incredible moment. Really worth the trip.

After visiting McWay Falls and then having a late lunch at Nepenthe restaurant, we drove to Pfeiffer Beach to see the famous Keyhole Arch. We were losing day light, which means we'll probably be missing the sun through the hole sighting. What complicated things more was the lack of signs. I blew right past the road that I was supposed... More

We were told by the volunteer at Point Lobos State Preserve that we couldn't miss this but it's very easy to miss it in that there are no signs on Hwy 1. Going south on 1 look for a row of about 5 -6 mailboxes on the right before you get to the town of Big Sur, make a really... More

Off route 1...take right turn sign posted narrow road one mile south of BIG SUR LODGE. Follow road for two miles. Costs 10 Dollars to park but well worth it. Stunning purple Beach. Lovely walk but not suitable for swimming. Unusual seaweed.

The nature around you is gorgeous. You may walk barefoot in the laguna for hours hypnotized. No where more than here do you experience the grandness of the Pacific, no matter what kind of weather.

I have been there many times thru my life and place stands still. The beach has crazy natural illuminating seas, the bridges coming into the beach are amazing stunning architecture structures! the beach is rocky and has beaches to sun bath or nature photography! love all streams and tide pools. I will be back and back...
