Awesome hike. Beautiful trails well kept up. Moderate hike. The only thing I didn't like is that as you hear the traffic from hey 1 as you hike.

I stayed with other 12 families for weekend camp. 1. a lot of faucet at the camp site. This save you trip for cooking, washing, and cleaning 2. the creek: big rocks, particles, sand beach...etc. can enjoy different "faces" of the creek. The water is...More

The name of this part implies it's the biggest destination in the area, but... I don't get it. I stopped at the Big Sur info station as well as the entry booth at this state park to ask where I should do here. That's where...More

I am reviewing the campground portion of this park. I was a female traveling alone, so I wanted to hike without getting too isolated. This place is perfect for that, as there are plenty of people around to make you feel safe, but not so...More

Big Sur, nothing can capture it's presence other than your own eyes while driving down Hwy1. The expansive coastline with crashing waves, bridges, valleys, forests and mountains. Wildlife, unbelievable. Most trails were easily marked. Plenty of pull off areas for scenic views when on the...More

Paid the 10 dollars to park at the official trailhead and was provided with a map which was too broad scale to be any use for hiking. Checked out the notice boards at the various information points in the car park and at the wardens...More

This park has it all for woods lovers. Easy hiking trails through redwood forests, more difficult ones up to the ridgelines. The trip up to Buzzard's Roost is well worth the climb. Spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and shoreline.

Of all the state parks that you pass along the PCH, I'm not convinced this is the best of them. If you're tight for time, stick with Point Lobos and other coastline parks. Pfeiffer Big Sur is big at 1000 acres, but only a small...More

No. It is closed at Gorda until the end of the summer. You can only get to Big Sur from the north through Monterey.

Weather shouldn’t be too bad, a light sweater/hoodie should suffice. Sorry I can’t help with the poison oak question.
