El Meco is not as well known as some of the ruins in Mexico but well worth the trip. It was well maintained, had active wildlife everywhere, beautiful grounds and stunning ruins. Definitely not as touristy as most of the ruins and had a quiet and magical feel to it. We walked alone through most of the site and could... More

This is not as large as other ruins like Tulum, but it is beautiful, peaceful, and not as tourist traveled. The grounds are well preserved and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There was no one else there. It was a peaceful rest away from the bustle and hustle of Cancun. If you can get there is is worth the Drive.... More

Really enjoyed going to EI Meco. It's a smaller ruin but is well kept, much cheaper entry cost and close to the Cancun area. The other plus was it's not crowded. You get to experience the ruins at your own pace with plenty of spots to stop and relax if needed. loved getting the Mayan experience without the long drive.... More

El Meco was closed when we went. It was close to our hotel so we just walked over. Good photos through the fence. A nice hike

We were very surprised and happy to learn that the El Meco Ruins were only 1 mile from our hotel. Since it was very hot out, and we had two small children with us, the 5 of us decided to get a cab. It cost $10 (usd) one way, the driver was kind enough to ask us how long we... More

Hidden gem located close to the Secrets Playa Mujeres Hotel. Admission fee $3. Small site with interesting wildlife in jungle area that surrounds buildings on site. We took a cab and the driver was very helpful and dropped us at the front door of the site. The site is very small so you will require less than an hour to... More

Not really any other way to describe them. There are far grander and more impressive Mayan ruins along this coastline and in central America, however, if you have the time when in Cancun, definitely worth the hour or so walking around them. The ruins are small, with only a fraction having been excavated, but the settlement was a major maritime... More

Great visit and despite a very hot and tiring trip, it mustn't be missed. Extremely busy by midday so, if possible get there early.
