A unique and exciting way to get in touch of the true nature of the Mayan...

A unique and exciting way to get in touch of the true nature of the Mayan Riviera is on the back of a horse combined with a Cenote swim. We have healthy, well trained horses appropriate for first timers, novice and intermediate riders. Our tours are semi-private consisting of groups up to 12 riders, ensuring that everyone receives personal attention from our friendly, knowledgeable guides. We are located in a very convenient location between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. During the trail ride be ready to spot various species of birds, iguanas, butterflies and eventually spider monkeys and coatis; our guides will give you an interesting and entertaining commentary along the trails while you pass by a local plantation and follow the path that will lead you to visit a deep natural pit or sinkhole -characteristic of Mexico- resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath. We will then remount and head back to the ranch, where at the end of the ride you will be given an opportunity to take a refreshing swim in our open air Cenote and enjoy some cool refreshments.Private tours can be offered for advanced riders upon request. Please do not forget to bring bug spray, sunscreen, closed toe shoes , bathing suit & towel and be ready to enjoy a different way to spend your day.

I have a special needs daughter who does therapeutic horseback riding at home. We were given a gift certificate for Bonanza Ranch so my daughter could horseback ride in Mexico. My family consisted of myself, my husband, and my 3 teenage daughters. I was not worried at all about my special needs daughter riding, because she rides weekly at home.... More

Lovely way to see the grounds and meet some of the rescued animals taken in by the owner. Thank you.

We booked through Maroma Adventures as our travel agent; they arranged our transportation to and from the ranch. My husband and two boys (7 and 9) were all beginners (husband had ridden once before, boys never). There were four guides plus a photographer, so we had plenty of support and the horses were very friendly and well behaved. The tour... More

Our adult family of 4 were all new riders and were nervous initially, but everyone provided easy to follow instructions and helped us throughout the trail. Our guides and photographer were super friendly and you can tell they love all the rescued horses and animals on the ranch. During the trail, they also point out plants and wildlife with a... More

Can't complain! The horses and all their animals are well taken care of which always is nice to see! The ranch is absolutely beautiful! The ride was a typical trail ride but the scenery is nice and the guides are good at pointing out any trees or animals of interest! We had a bunch of spider monkeys come through before... More

Hello , Thank you for taking the time to writte us your feedback; we will make sure based on your suggestion that the guides will include more information about the Ranch , and it`s main purpose of giving a second chance to horses and animals that otherwise would not be around us anymore. Can you remember the name of your... More

This is a great experience while vacationing in the Cancun area. Adjacent to El Dorado Royale Resort so very convenient if staying there. Horses are well-trained even for novice riders, guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. Swimming in the cool cenote at the end is very refreshing. Highly recommend.

My husband and I went on the 2 Hour Horseback Riding Tour while staying at the El Dorado Royale Resort in November 2016. The cowboys were awesome! Everyone was very friendly, we had great service and the staff did everything in their power to make this a safe and fun experience! We are first time riders, and we had a... More

Excellent guides-friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. Horses were healthy and well behaved. I loved that the horses had been rescued. It was a lovely ride through the jungle to a cenote. We learned a lot about Mayan chicle (gum) harvesting & tried a piece of locally made, all natural gum. Swimming in the cenote when we returned was such a cool... More
