Great castle, you can see it on the pictures, well worth your time. And even better than the castle is the circular (6km) walk around the hilltops behind the castle. Check it on Wikiloc or simply follow the signs as you leave the castle; don't turn right back into the village but follow the road straight ahead. The walk is... More

Such a splendid medieval place you are going to find when you are here. The paintings on the walls are perfectly preserved and are telling you the stories they have to say. Step out to the terrace and be amazed by the view. Find your reflection on the bottom of the central well. Walk around and try to imagine how... More

The castle is really lovely to walk up to. Although you cannot really hike around it, it provides a lovely restaurant and stunning views. Teens were impressed. Dog cannot go in the top of the castle and the entry fee is only few euros.

It's a very nice and quiet place. The employees at its entry are very sweet and friendly. This castle is fully indicated for those who are searching a good way to get fresh break between two huges visits. The view/panorama is incredibile and peaceful. On the other hand, the walls inside even if painted are let empty. They should create... More

VISIT: JUNE 21, 2014 This was the first stop of our 2 week road trip in Italy. The castle was easy to find. The place was massive. The architecture was stunning. Basically you walk around from room to room by yourself. I had uploaded some material so I read to my husband along the way. It is amazing how intact... More

Although not in any of the guidebooks, this is a stunning castle near Parma and Langhirano (if you're in the area visiting the prosciutto producers). Room after room of frescoes make this a must see stop if in the area. Extend your visit with lunch or late afternoon drinks in the little town next to the castello. Easy parking is... More

My Husband and I were looking forward to appreciating this romantic edifice. The drive from Parma was pleasant and easy, but we found the castle sitting on top of a small hill, looking rather lonely, with only 2-3 other visitors walking through it's rooms. You need to purchase a ticket at €4.00 per person, there are no maps, no other... More
