Walked this gorge towards the end of our holiday, but boy was it worth it. It's a 18km walk that descends about 200m. You can take it easy and take in the sights or go for it. Advice is to wear sensible footwear, sunglasses and...More

It is a very long walk on rough terrain through the magical White Mountains in West Crete The journey takes around 8 hours and does require good fitness. Trekking shoes highly recommended!

Wanted to do this hike for years and finally manage to do it in September this year. It took us 5:00 hours with several small stops for water and half an hour for lunch. Do not miss the swim at the end in Agia Roumeli...More

We started the route early at 8am while it was still quite chilly which was a good move. We were the second bus to arrive at the entrance so there were few people on the route. I wouldn't want to be on it when it's...More

Prepare for long, demanding walk! Better plan your trip in autumn or spring, we were there in Oct and it still was very sunny and muggily. I can't imagine how hot it is in July. Three days later I still have muscle pain byt it...More

We are a family of four who wanted to give the "down and up in one day" a go in order to stay independent and self-driving. We parked our rented the car at the national park entrance and hiked to the last rest area ("Christos")...More

Shame you can't drive there and back as the journey back via our minibus tour was nauseating to say the least! Good walk with beautiful scenery and amazing geology on view! Definitely need proper hiking shoes (ankle support would be best), but it's no more...More

No tour-company, and used 3,5 hours. Some small places to hang out, and a nice but windy beach.
