It's complicated to reach the place, but it's definitely worth the unique experience of avian history. Pieces like a Su-27 T10 prototype, a Tu-144 supersonic jet, a T4 titanic experimental aircraft, Ilya Muromets, MIG 25, MIG 31, a drone from '77, bunch of helicopters Mil MIs etc. The cold weather in April shouldn't dissuade anybody to visit the exhibition.

I have wanted to visit The Central Air Force Museum, at Monino Airfield for at least 25 years. The breath of the aircraft collection housed there is amazing. The museum contains the world’s largest collection of Russian military aircraft. If you are an aviation enthusiast you must see this collection. I was determined to visit the museum after I found... Entrance is 150₽. Cash only. There is an ATM in a bank a 5-minutes walk south of the station. From Moscow, trains run every 20-30 minutes from the station Yaroslavki. You can buy tickets in the machines (246₽ return). The journey takes about 80 minutes to Monino. From the train station in Monino, aim south. It's a pleasant 20 minutes... More

This is an absolute mandatory visit for aviators. It is a little way out if town, but if you get hold of Alexander at Angel Tours Moscow, he will transport you there and give you a really good tour in English. Well worth every Rouble. This museum only has a finite life as it will be moved on in a... More

The museum is worth visiting 👍 There you will find lots of airplanes in open air. It is Not a crowdy place so you can easily have a walk through metal birds of different size. The only problem is the the way to find museum if you go by public transport (really big problem if you don't speak Russian)

This is a superb and comprehensive collection of Russian and Soviet era aircraft...an absolute "must-see" for aircraft enthusiasts worldwide. Many eras of aviation are represented...and the collection is vast. My tour guide /translator Nina and I recently visited and were treated to a first class personalized tour of the museum and acres of aircraft by an ex-VVS pilot Anatoliy Ivanovich... More

Almost unbelievable to be able to look at well over 100 aircraft and helicopters used by the USSR/Russia over the last 100 plus years. An experience few will ever have. Anyone with the slightest I terrst in aviation should go and enjoy and maybe be almost overwhelmed by the incredible machines. I had dreamt of this visit for several decades... More

My wife, our excellent local guide Elena and myself visited this Central Museum of the Russian Air Forces in Monino, on 27.04.2016. We were lucky enough to have such an interesting, clever, passionate and full of knowledge guide, who gave us so many nice, interesting, surprising and useful informations about each of the aircrafts, helicopters and all other types of... Some of them in relatively bad state though, for example, famous Bartini BBA-14, amphibious aircraft with almost as complicated fate as one of its creator... But the rest of the expo is interesting, for aviation lovers mostly. No opportunity to enter any aircraft usually, but good look from outside. Some really rare machines.

The outdoor museum is impressive not only because of the quantity of aircraft, but also for their ambitious design. There is also a small indoor exhibit and a souvenir store. The access to the museum is not very good, but it worth visiting anyway. Its a "must go" for people who loves aviation visiting Moscow.
