Explore the historic grounds where Tequila Herradura has flourished for over 145 years. Starting at the traditional residences where many Casa Herradura employees live, you will walk the roads of the hacienda as we guide you through the production process. Stops include visiting the masonry ovens where you’ll try the distinctive taste of cooked agave and see a live demonstration from our skilled Jimadors. From there, we’ll take you to visit our citrus groves and open-air fermentation tanks. Here, you’ll follow Tequila Herradura closely on its long journey to maturity until it reaches its distillation process. The day will end with an introduction to the world of Tequila Herradura’s most iconic spirits.

Herradura distillery was founded about 1870. The grounds around the distillery compound are kept well maintained and are very picturesque. Tours cost 250-350 pesos depending on the tastings. The better tequilas are poured at the higher price.

Casa Herradura is reachable by public bus from Guadalajara. Go to Central Camionera Vieja (Antigua Camionera, the old bus station not far from downtown). Take the QUICK bus (1 way around MXN 84) to Amatitan. Or take the Tequila Express bus. They both stop at...More

A wonderful tour with knowledgeable guide. We learned a lot of the history of Herradura and the process of creating the fine product and scaling it. Definitely worthy the trip. Buy before you hit the airport (twice the price)

The Tequila Train only runs on weekends. We had a car but Uber is a fantastic option and is very reasonable. It is actually in Amatitlan, not Tequila, so it is a little bit closer to Guadalajara.

When I was there, the tour started at 10 or 10:15AM. Maybe you want to arrive before 10am?
