I rather enjoyed this castle. Despite its small size, it offers a fair bit for your visit. The initial museum showcasing the history of the castle is very interesting and we'll presented. The audio guide is a particularly good one, and really brings the castle...More

Etal Castle is a small English Heritage castle in Etal village, it was integral to the battle of Flodden Field. The museum is very informative whilst the castle is interesting.

Took the grandsons to look round the display before entering the castle was very educational explaining how the castle came into being and changed from a fortified Manor House into a full blown castle we all enjoyed the visit

I would recommend the audio tour to accompany a visit to this place - it really helps to bring to life the tragedy of Flodden Field and the place of Etal Castle within that story.
