This is the place to see reptiles like chameleons up close. There are a number of enclosures to enter and view first hand. It was a nice place to stop and take a break enroute from Tana to Andasibe. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke English very well.

stopped here on our way to Andasibe NP; it's small, privately run and has animals in large enclosures. It's pretty basic and it not a flash zoo. There are chameleons, iguanas, geckos, tiny native frogs, bats and a small number of butterflies. Also 1 snake and crocodile. Our local guide spoke some English, and being on the edge of a... More

The place is fairly small, but still has lots of small animals. I especially liked the chameleon display. Very knowledgeable guide with good English.

Didn't have high expectations. We were the only ones there. But ended up spending an hour and half there. Had a very knowledgeable, patient naturist/guide who spoke English very well. Really enjoyed the Chameleon enclosure which is full of many different kinds and sizes of chameleons hidden in dense growth of all different types of trees and plants. Was fun... More

If you work at it, you can find reptiles and amphibians in the wild in Madagascar, but the Pereyras Nature Farm makes it easy to see beautiful specimens in one place. There is a room just for chameleons, with beautiful Parson's and panther chameleons, among other types. Another room has the amazing leaf-tailed geckos that can camouflage themselves by looking... Having visited reptile farms in the US, my expectations for this Reptile Farm were not very high. But it turned out to be fun. The chameleon enclosure was clean and packed with plants and chameleons. It was ok to handle them and one even climbed up on top of my head (see picture). We saw snakes, geckos, bats, and more.... More

We stopped here for about 1 hour on our way from Andasibe to Antananarivo. We had a good English speaking tour guide who knew all about the large variety of chameleons, gecko's, frogs, snakes and butterflies. This is a bit like a zoo but the wildlife looked to be well cared for and had plenty of space to move around... More

Reserve Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic is at Marozevo, on National Route NR2 between the towns of Manjakandriana and Moramanga. There is a good selection of chameleons and other reptiles in several walk-through greenhouses, where you have an excellent opportunity to get close up photos and handle the lizards. The multilingual guides accompany you and are knowledgeable about the different species, but... More

Affords splendid close-up viewing of Coquerel's sifakas (from N.-W. Madagascar), and many chamaeleons (expertly identified by knowledgeable guide). Other reptiles etc. are, however, kept in poor conditions.

I can not, in good conscience, recommend this place for tourists. Although it sounds nice, it is really a bad zoo. The chameleons, geckos, frogs and snakes are all kept in cages that are poorly maintained. The Sifakas (a type of lemur) are fed daily to keep them coming to a feeding platform for people to take pictures. Consider the... More
