A fantastic memorial to WW1 soldiers. The carved trees are standing in a well maintained park (toilets & BBQ area) and were carved to honour the local men that didn't come back from the war. There is a plaque giving the history of the men...More

We were so impressed with these carvings and what they represented. What a wonderful legacy to the fallen people who went to war. Quite amazing that a chain saw was used to make these amazing carvings

The trees are only about 5 mins off the highway so you might as well come for a look. I stopped for about 5 mins, took some photos and then was back on my way. The carvings are quite impressive.

It was an interesting project the local community took on to use some WW1 memorial trees that were at the end of their lives, and create an enduring artistic legacy that honours the locals who gave their lives for future generations.

Called in here to view the Wood carvings and was pleasantly surprised. The detail and workmanship is quite stunning. The carvings are all done using a chainsaw. Very clever. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.

The story behind the carvings is very touching. The beauty, the size and skill of the carvings is testimony to the community's tight knit spirit and its respect for their homegrown heroes. Well worth the stop! Well worth photographing!!

This is an interesting exhibition. Each carving has a story of the servicemen that are depicted. War is a sad thing and fruitless to see such young people taken away from their families. It is really worth diverting from the main track to visit this...More

A great historical monument - the carvings were more numerous and larger than I was expecting. A friend recommended that I check them out, and I found them very worthwhile. A local volunteer was on duty in the shop / kiosk, with a lot of...More
