Watch our glassblowers creating wonderful african animal figurines and tableware using 100% recycled glass, from an overhead balcony. Feel the heat of the furnace and understand why we say we are the HOTTEST attraction in Swaziland. Our well stock showroom is attached to the factory and there is a coffee shop offering light meals. Beer and wine also available. In our well established gardens there is an array of well stocked craft shops selling Swazi Fair Trade products, all produced within Swaziland. Central in the garden is a jungle gym for the young ones to enjoy whilst the adults shop.

My little glass elephant bottle stopper was lovingly wrapped and made it home safely. A great reminder of a great country. Interesting to watch the glass being blown from the walkway accessed from the cafe. Other shops too and things to explore in the grounds.

Have been here a couple of times, it's a must stop on any visit to Swaziland. Since their products are decorative as well as functional, our glass cabinet is now full of Ngwenya items: glasses for beer, cocktails, long drinks, shots, and whisky. In addition to browsing the store, it's also very fascinating watching the craftmanship of the glassblowers from... More

Of course you have to because it's on your way out and there is ostensibly nothing much else. It's a good example of something from trash and a highly successful self help project. We liked it.!

Quite a variety of blown-glass items, including knickknacks, bottle stoppers, glassware, vases, etc. prices were very good. It was interesting (but hot inside) to watch the process from the walkway above the factory. Many other shops in the complex, with handmade jewelry (some made from rolled pages of magazines), textiles, carved items, fashion, and even a chocolate shop. Nice outdoor... More

Thank you for your review and your support, we really appreciate it. It does get a bit warm on the balcony sometimes, due to the heat of the furnace rising, hope it was not too much for you. More

I previously owned an Ngwenya glass beer mug, my girlfriend unfortunately dropped and broke it. I saved the pewter until my next visit to Swaziland which was last month (Sept 2016). Upon arrival the factory was closed but one of the staff went out of his way to find a spare glass and glue the pewter back to pre made... More

A visit to Ngwenya glass factory will give you a feel of the real mastery of glass crafting. The opportunity given to guests who are potential clients is very enriching and worth every second of your time. Viewing is current free. There are peacocks and hens waiting to spice your experience and shops to pick souvenirs from.

The items for sale are actually quite useful and not just all for decorations. The staff would also expertly pack the items so you can trust it would ne just fine along your travels. Go on a work week and you can actually see and get a tour of the floor! I've never been to a glass-blowing facility before and... More

This place is fantastic, very out the way through beautiful countryside. We drove through South Africa to here. The prices are amazing, we just didn't have room in the cases for our homecoming to buy any more. Made out of recycled glass, this gives others a living. Beautiful craftmanship, we will return. Staff were superb. Nice cafe too and other... More

This place started life as a way of creating employment for disenfranchised young folk who would collect bottles and re-use the glass. It has since become an internationally famous business with a deserved reputation for fine glass blowing and the creation of crafts and souvenirs with an African theme. Well worth the visit and the tour of the factory but... More
