Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In recent times I have been staying in Gippsland, whilst I still reside in another part of the state, necessity has bought me back to the region. I was looking for somewhere to spend time and just clear my thoughts.
I recalled that the Knob is often under-utilised and quiet...or that was the case once. It's been a few years since I lived in the area... (okay more than a few 🙂 )
The Knob Reserve reminds me of my childhood... As a teenager I attended music festivals here or came with friends to go swimming ( paddling) in the Avon River. The area is natural and stunningly beautiful. Perhaps it's the old infrastructure that makes it feel safe... You know that someone will eventually come along if you fall.
It has been upgraded a little since I was there and there are formal edging areas to highlight the paths so you can enjoy walking. Clearly the locals are enjoying the opportunity to walk their dogs (on leads). There are information signs at the location and of course there is a lookout at the top of the area. When I arrived there were people enjoying the BBQ shelters with their families and couples walking dogs.
This is a bit of a hidden secret in the area- it's not that there are not signs... There are! But when you think of 'knob'... Are you not thinking of Bedknobs and Broomsticks? 😄 Well.... It's nothing like that!

Few places around offer me the tranquility that I find at The Knob Reserve. The trees whisper their tales if you care to listen. Beautifully preserved one cannot but feel reverence when standing on this sacred ground.

This area is part of the Batuluk Cultural Trail because of it's historical significance to the aboriginal... it was major campsite and meeting place for the Gunaikurnai people who have lived in this region for thousands of years.
In more recent times the Knob was well known when I was a teenager for it's music festivals... although I can't say I have been there for a festival for about 27 years. It was a great place to spent just enjoying the sunshine and soak up the festival environment.
More recently I have visited on occasion for it's peaceful solitude. It hasn't changed much since I first went there over 40 years ago, there is a swing/monkey bar that stood the test of time well as it's still there. The only change worth noting is there are information boards explaining it's cultural heritage and ... a new lookout platform has been constructed enabling views down upon the local farmlands, the foothills and the Avon River.
It's well designed to have events there because there are BBQ areas, picnic tables and amenities.
