Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Dame Elisabeth Murdoch (1909-2012) was given Cruden Farm as a dream wedding gift by her husband, the press baron Sir Keilh Murdoch. Dame Elisabeth loved the garden, the plants and trees, and the sculpture. Cruden Farm is open to the public; it's very popular for wedding photos. You can also take a picnic lunch (no rubber mats, please). Children under 16 are free. Cruden Farm is managed by a public trust; all income goes towards upkeep of the garden.

Enjoy a day at Cruden farm, the property Keith Murdock offered in 1928 as a wedding gift for his young wife Elisabeth. For over 40 years, she dedicated her life to develop the 20-acre property with her devoted gardener, Michael Morrison.
It's a place of hidden paths, majestuous trees, enchanting spots for picnic, walking or meditation.
The life story of Dame Edna is as fascinating as her property.
It is now operated by a charitable trust.
If you are a garden lover, you will be in heaven.

One of our main objectives during a recent week's holiday on the Mornington Peninsula was to visit Cruden Farm, and we certainly weren't disappointed!
The garden at Dame Elisabeth Murdoch's former home is an absolute delight in every respect.

My husband and I spent a wonderful day at Cruden Farm on 19 January 2020. We bought tickets online for the tour and were not disappointed. We arrived just before 10am and the tour started at 10am sharp, as advertised. A beautiful older gentleman (who had worked alongside Dame Elisabeth led us through the stunning gardens explaining what and why certain trees and plants were where they were. Some trees dated back to the beginning of time, it seemed. He referred to himself as the Number 2 head gardener, explaining that Dame Elisabeth was and always would be Number One. She planned where everything should go and did a magnificent job! Oak trees mostly- so beautiful in all seasons. We had a picnic after the 1 1/2 hour (rather brisk) walk, on one of the many seats dotted throughout the gardens. There were tables for larger groups. Splendid day. We’re returning in Autumn to see the spectacular colour show promised.

Spectacular is an understatement the farm offers so much beauty to explore. Around every corner you will be surprised with the attention to detail of the garden.Hidden gems that bloom every season makes this day trip exciting. A pop up kitchen serving the most delicious scones and yummy cakes makes for the perfect tea break amongst the lush trees and blooms. The garden is impeccable aromas from the rose garden that will linger for hours. The stunning lake and sculpture hidden are gorgeous I felt peaceful and calm the whole day.
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous property Dame Elizabeth Murdoch.
