The place is not as good as the one in google. Went here on a weekend and the place is just so crowded. The water is not clean at all! First, there are no parking available nearby. The official parking area is a bit far from the area and even if you just parked on the side (not in the parking area) they will still charge you. Second, once you entered and paid the entrance fee, there's another entrance fee if you wanted to go to the other falls. For me, the place is just not worth the fee since the place is not well mentained at all. Maybe it is good to visit it on a week day or non holiday.

Without a doubt this place is jam-packed on a weekend. It's a good thing we stayed in a nearby resort and made Daranak falls a Side trip. I'm the type who would not swim on any body of water other than a beach.. but I just had to, even though It's very very deep.... The water is very cold. but of course I enjoyed.

Real natural beauty spot for all ages. Fresh clean air and nice park after the bridge, I am senior and found out the comfortable stay within the area. There are not much ups and downs before you see the waterfalls. Unless you like to swim, then you go down to the streaming waters. Viewing from the deck was already a fantastic experience. Contented and pleased with this trip amidst the traffic while nearing metro manila.

Daranak Falls nice place to visit if you love nature and of course swimming. Here you can dip in the cold water coming from the falls with clean water. At least you have one whole day for this itinerary like we do. First, we hear a mass at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church in Antipolo, then we passed by at the newly opened Hinulagang Taktak Park in which you can see also the rehabilitated Hinulagang Taktak Falls, only you cannot swim on the water but they have swimming pool there. After that we go straight to Inday Nelly Mystical Cave in Antipolo also. Its our first time as family go inside a cave and the kids are happy and excited. If your looking for an adventure yoi can climb another steps going to White Cross, up there you will see overlooking Rizal and some part of Manila, its a very nice view. Just be careful going down coz its rocky and the steps are slippery especially there's a rain the other night we go there. We passed by 3 towns before reaching Daranak Falls it closes 5pm and no overnight swimming there, you will not get lost going there as long as you are not afraid or ashamed to ask the people you passes by hehe after all asking directions is free of charge...Happy Family Bondingβ₯β₯β₯

We visited here as a family of 4 adults and 3 children The falls were well sign posted and easy to find
There was lots of parking near and trikes to take your belongings food etc to the entrance for a small fee
There is a 50 peso charge per person including children and babies
The falls were nice and cool and lovely to swim in but takes shoes to wear in the water
The day we attended it was very very busy but if you continue past the first falls on foot there is another that was quieter
There was small chalets with a table and concrete seats for rent and a small barbecue area
There was also a life guard there at the deeper of the 2 falls
But why oh why donβt they use some of the money generated for the admission fee on the toilet and cr facilities. To say the least it was disgusting and basic. One of the worst I have seen in the Phillipines
With a little development and investment this place would be a high earner.
There were other foreigners there also who agreed about the state of the CR/toilets

I'm actually hesitant to visit this place since I thought the pictures posed on blogs were oversaturated but I was wrong, the water here is really turquoise green and the vegetation is indeed very green.
2 1/2 hours away from Manila.
P500 budget. A quick getaway.
I did not expect this place to be this picturesque.
Iti:
5:30am Starmall Shawboulevard
6am ride van to Tanay Public Market (P70)
Upon arrival to the market, you'll see lots of tricycle drivers.
8am ride tricycle to Calinawan cave (P50/head)
8:30am start Calinawan spelunking (P20 reg fee per head. P200 guide fee + tip for the guide if you want to go to levels 3-5)
9:30am ride tricycle to Daranak Falls
9:40 arrive at Daranak (P50 entrance fee)
10-12noon- free time, cliff dive, swim swim.
1pm go to Batlag Falls (P100 entrance)
2:30 wash up.
3pm Ride tricycle back to Tanay Public market
3:30 ride van to Starmall Shaw
Ps. Don't go during weekends (place gets overcrowded)
Pss. Don't do calinawan caves level 3-5 if your waistline is above 30 π there were parts when you literally have to baby crawl your way thru a hole/tunnel.

Located in Tanay just a short drive from the main highway you will find these lovely waterfalls. You can swim near the falls, picnic or simply enjoy their beauty.
There is a gift/food shop, washroom and walking trails.

When you've got so much work to think about, what better way to de-stress than to travel- being away from the metro, nice scenery, cool waters.
Due to a midnight hangout, my friends and I decided to go to Daranak falls early the next day. Its very near Quezon City (an hour and a half drive), inexpensive, and scenic ( both the falls & the scenery on the way).
If your driving by car, I suggest don't take the Antipolo route but go all the way to Brgy San Jose in Marcos Highway then turn right to the Tanay- Sampaloc Road. Follow the road and you'll see a signage of Daranak Falls after 15 mins. The route is way faster, less traffic, less zigzag and beautiful view of the hills.
The falls is well maintained. The surroundings are clean, with CR, picnic tables and cottages. The personnel are well trained in greeting tourists. No trekking as the falls is only 5 mins away from the carpark.
Minimal fees as well ( P30 parking, P50 entrance fee, P200-300 picnic table). The falls is beautiful and water is cold. A two hour stay here will be enough to enjoy the place inclusive of swimming of course. If you have more time, you can make a sidetrip to the Batlag Falls and Calinawan Cave which are in the same area. A separate entrance will be required for the other tourist spots.
If you don't have much time, this is the place to be as you can explore it and be back home for only a half day tour. :)
Note: If you're going here on a weekday, make sure to bring your own food as the stores only sell home cooked meals every weekend. You'll only find canned sardines, tuna, and cup noodles.

We went here around 9 am yesterday nov 26 2013 and since its a tuesday we had the whole place to ourselves for many hours. People started arriving around past 12.
The falls is very beatiful, clear green water. There is a shallow area for kids and for adults who dont know how to swim. The deeper part of the pool( 30ft ) is separated by a rope. There are also floaters that you can rent and lifeguards in the area.
Tips for fellow travellers:
* entrance is P20 for adults and P15 for kids
* table P200 while the picnic shed is 300. ( tables are nearer to the falls and have roof above it)
* there are grills available and sinks with faucet where you can wash dishes/ prepare the food.
* you have to go all the way downstairs for restrooms and there is a fee of P5 per use (i ran out if money when we were there and the person in charge of the restroom was nice enough to let me in )
* no atm in the area
* pets are not allowed even though there are a lot of stray cats and dogs
* there are a LOT OF MOSQUITOES in the afternoon. Make sure to bring insect repellant lotion especially if you have kids with you.
* the resort is open from 8 am to 5 pm and tends to be very crowded during the weekend. Make sure to visit on a weekday and as early as possible. Remember, it doesn't matter how beautiful a place is, a crowded place will ruin the mood.
* there are stores downstairs where you can buy food/ softdrinks can goods, but no ice.
* for commuters, you can rent a tricycle from the town proper. Make sure to make arrangements for the driver to fetch you because there are no public vehicles outside the resort. Rate is P200 back and forth.
* wifi doesn't work here
Suggestions for management:
*cleaner restroom please
*pls open restrooms near the falls so we dont have to go all the way downstairs
* offer life vest rentals for adults.
* offer to sell ice
* make transportation from the resort to the town proper available.

Beautiful falls. We loved it here with our kids. You can rent a tube for 50php. Use the bathroom for 5php. Parking is limited and costs. Entrance costs etc. Drive back is a little difficult. They were working on the road and it was narrow. Worth the trip. Will be going back with visitors and groups.
