First of all I would like to write that it was quite something to try to drive close enough to park but after several lanes that lead to locked gates I decided to park near the local stable's and working farm and walk about three...More

With a friend, my wife and I recently attended the final dress rehearsal of Handel's "Agrippina" at this English Heritage property in the theatre there. The performance was first class, with excellent singing from the cast (which included THREE counter-tenors) and the staging/theatricals were fantastic,...More

We spent about one half hours here walking around the outside of the building as it is being renovated. They hold opera here and used to be owned by families but now part of the National Trust.

We attended the pre opera open day, fabulous event. Got to go inside the house again but the grounds are open all year for visiting. Take a picnic and enjoy. Good views.

An architectural gem that is tucked away in the Hampshire countryside near the picturesque town of Alresford. It can only be viewed from the outside whilst walking around the building. Boards explaining the history of the site can be read. There is plenty of parking...More

I am very fortunate in that I am staying in the Granges Clock Tower for a week!!! The yearly Opera concerts are being held here at the moment which is another experience altogether. The old mock Grecian mansion is almost unreal. The grounds are wonderful...More
