About
The Macadamia Castle has been the areas most popular activity destination for over 38 years. Entry is free to the Cafe, Nut Bar, Gift Shop, Fine Food section and Macadamia Nut information display. There is a daily programme of interactive activities in the Animal Park with over 200 native and farmyard animals. We have hands on experiences with our salt water crocodiles and many other animals. There are 9 keeper talks between 10.30 and 4pm where you can get up close to the animals. An ideal outing for the family, and a great destination when discovering the district. There is a very reasonable admission charge to the animal park and mini golf. A relaxing stop for fresh homestyle food, coffee, kids activities or education.

Very disappointing
Jun. 2021 • Family
This place is extremely overpriced for what you experience. Adults charged $29.50 and children are $19 - you have to pay extra for the train ride (do not bother as it is so old and the park is very small so you’re only on the train for a few minutes) and bags of animal food (there are 3 goats to feed and a couple of aggressive kangaroos that chased my 3 year old and probably scarred him for life! There are two alpacas that weren’t at all interested.) It looks as though nothing has been updated since they opened 40 years ago. We actually had to laugh at how disappointing it was so we didn’t cry. We would not recommend this place to anyone.

Fun but dated
Jun. 2021
Overall I'm glad my friends and I went, we had fun and loved holding the little chicks in their enclosure. Although, there were some downsides - I felt the farm needed some love. It is dated and has minimal animals. The minigolf was great. I was disappointed with the warm macadamias, they didn't taste fresh. They accept dine and discover vouchers which is great.

Over priced atteaction
Jun. 2021
Offer more animals, we went to the kangaroos and only found 3 emus.
Clean up areas, the whole place this has really declined, very few animals.
Reduce price @ $39 an adult this is over the top.
The playground was the best thing.

Goatalicious!

Fun filled packed day. A great out for friends couple or families. Interactive experiences + talks with the zoo keepers - lots on offer during your day. Putt putt course basic but fun!

A good activity but in need of some love

Staff were friendly and the animal shows were good. Paying $2 extra for the short train ride seems a bit unnecessary. A few empty exhibits and areas closed for maintenance.

Mouldy toast
May 2021 • Couples
Stopped for lunch as we had always found it good place in the past. It used to be clean and the food was good. We ordered the all day big breakfast which looked great until I noticed the gluten free toast was mouldy ! I took it back and the man who served me just offered to make another piece of toast...no apology ! And the toilets were not very clean and very smelly. We won’t be going back I’m afraid. The female staff member was lovely and it’s a shame she didn’t serve me when I took the mouldy toast back.

Stopped off on my way through, wouldn’t bother stopping again

Stopped off on my way through mainly to pick up some macadamia nuts, but they were ridiculously expensive, so we used the toilets and kept going

Must see macadamia castle
Jan. 2021 • Family
Took my 4 year old twins here on a recommendation. And it did not disappoint it’s a place where you can let your kids roam at more than arms length to see everything the castle holds. They loved the water play, tree house and the shows . We spent the whole day there and as I was leaving my battery was dead.

This is where this place excelled. I asked the owner where I could get a new battery from he told me it was 20 minutes away, so as I went to order an Uber he told me to stop and he would drive me to town. Talk about aussies helping aussies in a time of need. I had 2 tired children and he let my wife take them back into the park until I returned.

One of the bonuses of the flat battery was I got to try there beef burger do yourself a favour it’s a must try.

Thank you again for your hospitality and help we will be back with a tribe of people next time .

Looks sad and needs some work.
Jan. 2021 • Family
It cost me $109 for 3 adults and 2 kids and a couple of bags of animal food. There were 3 goats, 3 kangaroo's, 3 emus, 1 koala, 2 calves, a couple of chooks and ducks, a few chicks, some guinea pigs, a wombat, some sad looking owls. The best animal display was the snakes. The dining area on the deck was filthy and we had to clean our own tables with baby wipes. The animal staff were friendly. The car park was clean and the new water park for the kids was good. I am sure the highway by-pass must have affected business which would be hard for them but it definitely needs some work.

What a hidden Gem!!
Dec. 2020
What a hidden Gem away from the highway. So glad to encounter this hidden gem. One of the fun activities to go around the area since Coffs Harbour is further down. Fun for kids with animal encounter, petting, talk show, putt putt, mini waterparks etc. Cafe also has excellent food of sweet pancake, savory pancake, breakfast and lunch menu. Yum yum yum!!
