Great tasting gin
Nov. 2020 • Friends
We visited Wimmera Hills Winery on a winery tour and it did not disappoint. It is a gem and a must do if you are in the area. We were given an extensive tour and shown the whole process of the gin making. It was very interesting! The gin tastings were delicious and not your common Dan Murphy’s gin flavors. We purchased 3 bottles for $100, or you can purchase 1 bottle for $38. We will definitely come back when we are next in the area.

Accommodation review
Mar. 2021
This review relates to their accommodation and not the winery itself. Charming cottage. Next to their main residence but still felt isolated. Great outlet. The couple that run this place are great. Their dog is super cute. Unsealed road down there, but it’s just dusty and not bumpy :)

Fantastic place to stay!
Jan. 2021
Enjoyed our stay - tranquil and views across the hills.
The hosts, Jane and Ben, are so welcoming with their hospitality.
A fascinating and informative tour of the distillery.
Plus their wines and (especially) the gin are just the tonic !! :-)
And they cooked us a lovely meal.

A truly personable and exquisite wine tasting experience
Oct. 2020 • Couples
Visiting Wimmera Hills Winery was a most enjoyable experience and one I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys wine tasting. Jane and Ben are to be commended on providing us with in depth and wonderful experience. Ben, who has a passion for creating and making a variety of wine and distilling gin, gave us an excellent commentary on the processes he uses to produce his fine products. Jane then provided us with an delicious platter of gourmet food that exquisitely complimented our wine and gin tasting. We thank you both for your hospitality and for sharing your knowledge and talents with us. If you’d like a similar experience please book an appropriate time and allow a few hours for this wonderful experience. An ‘yes’ be ready to take one wine and gin home with you. Thank you again, Jane and Ben.

Complete hospitality, serenity, and GIN!
Dec. 2019
We had multiple family members stay at Wimmera Hills Winery in the lead up to and over our wedding weekend. Jane was so hospitable, the cabin was SO clean, modern, and the views were incredible (topped of with wildlife every morning!). I completely recommend for a quiet weekend away, while you're there ask Jane for the family Gin cocktail recipe, its delicious and they sell their specialty gin & triple sec onsite. Could not recommend enough.

Hows the serenity
Apr. 2019 • Couples
We stayed one night in the cabin after a day of wine tasting and it was perfection. The cabin was cosy with all the amenities you need, the bed was comfy and the entire place was really clean.
We couldn't believe how quiet it was, only the sound of birds and at dusk and in the morning there were plenty of kangaroos around
Jane was super friendly and really helpful and the breakfast hamper Ben delivered in the morning with fresh crossaints and orange juice eaten on the deck enjoying the morning sunshine was straight from a movie!
Definitely recommend it for a cute getaway from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne.

hey G - So glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage, and hope you really enjoyed tasting the best of the Pyrenees Wineries at the wine festival. Yes our valley in Glenpatrick is a total flip side from Melbourne. We have kangaroos around the house and cottage most evenings. We are an easy 2 hour drive from Melbourne, just get over the Westgate bridge and head west... there is not one traffic light, and plenty of easy parking when you get here. Hope you make it back to our peaceful valley some time soon. Jane & Ben

Magic stopover, will make more time next visit
Mar. 2019 • Couples
On the Adelaide/Melbourne trip we usually stop over but try to stay a bit off the main roads. We found Wimmera Hills Winery & it's a gem in the Pyrenees region. Host's son Magnus was on hand to give us a hearty greeting. He also showed us over the winery/distilling operation vineyards & shared some of the families association with the property. Great & knowledgeable host for our very peaceful overnight stay!! Thank you & cheers. A & J

Hello A&J, so glad you had a wonderful stay at Wimmera Hills Winery, you caught us at a very busy time of the year, just after harvest. Magnus was delighted that you were so interested in the operation of a small scale winery and distillery. Kind regards, and look forward to your next visit, Jane

Superb Experience....Accommodation, Wine tasting, Hospitality.
Feb. 2019 • Couples
We booked an overnight stop over, en route to Adelaide from Melbourne. Having got lost ( well we are from UK!) all down to my poor navigation skills ...not their directions.
We arrived to a warm welcome from Jane (host), and the cottage was beautifully presented, and sparkly clean ( and I am fussy! I admit).
Knowing our travel dilemma Jane invited us to sample their produce....WOW!! All so professionally presented with a cheese and fruit board. FABULOUS!

A Gin & Tonic ( their own distilled Gin) was amazing! and greatly appreciated after a long journey and heat of the day. (Wish we could have bought some to take home to Uk but we leave via Qatar (Doha) no alcohol.)
However we couldn't resist a bottle of wine to share with our daughter on return to Melbourne, so we will enjoy again.
Even liqueurs !! they were soooo good, if you like a cointreau , you will be a very happy person. I was very HAPPY!! and consequently slept my best nights sleep in a month of staying in Australia.

Ben and daughter Georgette arrived to join in the delightful evening of sampling and enjoying their conversation and hospitality. Such a genuine hard working family....passionate to provide the best of their produce. Olives, and chutneys and jams.....all delicious!

Ben we thank you for your culinary talents of a Caesar Salad knocked up at short notice to help us 'absorb' the alcohol consumed.
Thank you for a memorable visit, and we shall return with our NZ friends next year to show them that Australian Wine is good too!

This family deserve every success, and their accommodation was 'spot on' meeting all your needs with uninterrupted views and kangaroos hopping by.

To sum up a great Place to stay overnight, enjoy wine/ produce tasting, meet & enjoy with genuine hospitality.
Forthcoming guests will not disappointed. ...ENJOY

Just what we needed
May 2018 • Family
The location, amenities and attention to detail were all we needed after a long trip to Brisbane and back.

The cabin is just right for an intimate stay while exploring this amazing area.

Beautiful morning views, breakfast on the verandah and afternoons enjoying cellar doors...
