About
Faber Vineyard is a family run winery located in the picturesque Swan Valley. We craft some of the Swan Valleys best wines, and our cellar door studio, overlooking our magnificent vineyard, is a fantastic place to enjoy them.

- daandliPerth, Australia92 contributionsA hidden gemThe wife bought me a Groupon for Christmas for a wine tasting and gourmet platter. Faber Vineyard is very much tucked away. At one stage we thought we’d driven too far! Pulled in to the generous sized parking lot with plenty of trees for shade and off we went to the winery. We milled around for a while looking at all the decor and awards as we were a little early and the ladies were in the kitchen. Eventually one lady greeted us and showed us to a table on the back deck. It was a pleasantly cool Perth morning and there were a few photos taken of the beautiful surroundings. The lady doing the wine tasting was very knowledgeable about her wines. When the platter came out it was full of meats and cheeses. Two home made quiches which were absolutely amazing. My birthday is coming up soon and I’ve already advised the wife that if she’s looking for something for us to do, I’d definitely do this again!Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 March 2023
- Ian CAlbany Creek, Australia80 contributionsWine and cheese and well worth a visitA really well set up venue with pleasant staff and atmosphere. $10 per person tasting but this is not charged if you purchase. Our pick was the Verdelho in whites for value for money but the sparkling also rated. The Shiraz selections are wonderful. Black berries and oak and could easily drink one too many. Well worth visiting.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 1 August 2023
- Bob S4 contributionsWe keep going backI've seen a number of reviews that have quite disparaging opinions of John, the owner. I crossed swords with him once several years ago. I gave as good as I got. It's bloody Australia people. But fact is he knows his onions, or grapes. He has an Australian/British sense of humour. we both joke about everything up to and including death. My American wife took a group on American students and teachers and they all had what they said was the highlight of their visit to OZ. My wife and I go there at least twice a year. The wine, the food, and John, are excellent. Give it a try, I bet you'll enjoy it.Visited February 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 29 September 2023

Whilst exploring the Swan Valley we headed to Faber Vineyard to sample their wares; but upon entry we were advised that they charge a fee for tastings.
I don't understand why they would do this when there are so many other options in the region offering tastings for free.
If you want people to buy your products, don't charge them to try them out. Avoid and go to one of the other vineyards that offer free tastings.

Long table lunch … John spoilt the experience he thinks he’s funny cracking jokes about people who died in Covid . Very insensitive, there was around 200 people at this lunch and a big probability that some guests actually lost someone in this very difficult time . He also made reference to people who were either vegetarian vegan or who had any other dietary requirements, please make yourself known and he will take you out to get some grass , what a dinosaur.. !! REALLY . If your in the restaurant business this is not the attitude to have totally disrespectful, so many people now have dietary restrictions. Shame on you John
This place is beautiful lovely setting , but we will not be returning when there are many more accommodating places around with much nicer owners .

Excellent wines, food and service. I called in on Sunday to pick up a platter and a bottle of the sparkling Chardonnay wine. As always, the service was friendly and the food and wine very enjoyable. We have been coming to Faber regularly for the past 6-7 years and have brought many family and visiting friends out to visit and share the experience. The setting is quite beautiful and the range of wines very impressive so always something for different tastes. John and Jane provide friendly hands on service and knowledge and its a pleasure to visit.

We were the uncomfortable witnesses to the owner ranting extensively at a silver-haired couple who dared to politely ask if they could sit at a table different from the one allocated. The abuse was entirely uncalled for and naturally resulted in the couple leaving the restaurant. Who would want to stay after experiencing such unwarrated rudeness? A dreadful experience for tourists exposed to an inhospitable Australian. .

Having previously enjoyed lunch at this winery with my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, I was keen to take my partner, who, being of Croatian descent, had grown up in the Swan Valley. Our booking on Sunday, 4 July, with masks in place, we signed into the SafeWA app. We were, however, treated rudely and unprofessionally by the owner, John. Asking about sitting at another table, we were repeatedly and aggressively confronted. We felt demeaned, insulted and affronted by this rude, deplorable and needless verbal tirade. Very unpleasant for the only other customers. Nill recommendation and no revisit will be forthcoming.

Our friends had previously visited and recommended the vineyard. We had a voucher for tasting and a shared platter This family owned vineyard has a real charm, having John serve our wine having just come from crushing the grapes from the latest crop and offering to take my hubby out into the vineyard with some pruning shears next time we visit added something rather special that would be missing from a more commercialised premises. The platter was very good and quite substantial with quiche, cheese, meats, olives, bread, dip and salad. The wines were excellent with the Verdelho, Shiraz and Petit Verdot being our favourites whilst our friends added a bottle of the rose they'd been 'playing with' to their take home bundle. We couldn't fault the food, wine or welcome and will certainly be going again.
