We saw this 'bridge' on the map so we decided to go see what it was. A 20 mile stretch of straight road! They say one side is sea an one side is fresh water as its cut off from each other. In the middle of it is a bridge to the other side and some parking and a stair... More

It's not often that you get to drive across a road that is surrounded by a sea on one side and a lake on the other. And it's not a short drive either. If you stop and take pictures and walk around enjoy the view and the cool sculptures it can take you up to an hour and a half... More

The dyke that turned the Zuiderzee into the IJsselmeer in 1932. The construction started in 1927. It's an easy way to get from Noord-Holland to Friesland. Somewhere in the middle you can stretch your legs. And take the view from both sides of the water. Nice stop.

On the way for Friesland we stopped here with the car, and we could admire this place that is incredible to see. There is a restaurant and a gift shop for the ones that wanna take a break or buy something. I advice to get this stop if you find yourself in this area.

Nothing spectacular but a pleasant way to stretch your legs and climb a few stairs to take in the view

In case you want to get some idea about Dutch Engineering, this is a nice place to visit. I'm missing the onsite explanation, so you need to read about it yourself. Just fun to see, nothing extraordinary, but still worthwhile.

You can stop at several points of interest. The water on both sides is fascinating at all types of weather. This dike made Holland accessable for The Northern part of the country.

Incredible piece of engineering. Great to see how a vision became reality and still shows the struggle against water. Monument of Ir. Lely relatively short distance from Den Oever. Impressive water locks on both side. Nice break of tour around Ijsselmeer

This is just amazing. We stopped and looked at the dike. This is just amazing, to stop and see the incredible what people can do. If you are in the area you must stop and have a look.

Great part of Dutch culture. It's sort of what you expect. Viewing point in the middle. Pretty impressive.
