I view the river from my window it’s very beautiful all times of the year. Now the swans are back always lovely to watch.

River and canal walks are often an easy stroll being flat. This area of the Lea can get quite busy close to the town though so watch out for bikes!

Great place especially if your in a boat,;). Hertford is lovely but as you get close to London it's not so peaceful , to many boats...

The Hertford to Ware/Ware to Hertford river walk is always lovely to do whether in summer or winter. I have done the walk many times since moving to Hertford in September 2016.

We went boating at The Lea Valley boating lake had a great time. Plenty of different boats to choose from. Lots of the river to row along. Well organised.

Walk all the way along the riverside from Hertford to Great Amwell and you will pass working locks, weirs, and Amwell nature reserve. Its an easy flat walk and you can't get lost. Ware town is about 1/2 way with its shops, cafes, and bars....More

Great place to walk - lots of wildlife along the river (ducks, coots, swans, Canadian geese and gulls, but also herons and kingfishers if you're lucky). A lovely place to exercise a dog. Along the town stretch of the river there are plenty of gazebos...More

Walked from Ware towards Stanstead Abbots- nice stroll along river- about half way there are nature reserves- lots of various birds inc Kestrel and cormorants- also saw large fish
