Overview

Welcome to Dugong Beach, Mantanani Island, Kota Belud. Since first opening its 360’ beach view in 2006, Mantanani Island has been synonymous with great water clarity and a casual, relaxed atmosphere. The Island currently boasts more than 13 dive sites across its waters and more yet to be discovered. Whether perched on the water's edge in Mantanani Kechil or along the beautiful Mantanani Besar coastlines, every dive location raws on the local region's natural features - from the setting and architecture to the style and attitude - and infuses them with island's own unique friendly and inviting atmosphere. Our departure jetty is located in Kota Belud approximately about an hour drive to Rampayan Laut and about 30-40 minutes (depending on weather) boat ride to majestic Mantanani Island. Mantanani Paradise offers affordable packages for one to see the inimitable marine life, white sand bay and crystal turqoise water which characterized the island as one of the best islands for micro life. The island was once known for the sightings of “dugongs’’ (manatee) by the indigenous locals (Ubian). Lately, it has been reported of less sightings of the creature but the beautiful island promise a remarkable underwater journey. The crystal clear water visibility averages about 30 to 40 feet. The sea floor drops down to around 12 meters unfolding variety species of marine life yet to be discovered. Although Mantanani Paradise has long been serious about good food, it recently added an exciting array of BBQ dishes to its menu. BBQ lovers can now savor prawn, satay, chicken wings and occasionally fresh fish or crabs before diving into several signature local dishes such as chicken curry. To top it off there's nature’s own refreshment, freshly plucked coconuts available served to you at any time.

This was the best snorkelling spot we went to. From Kota Kinabalu, it's about a 2 hour drive. Try to get a tour guide with a smaller van. We ending up in a large bus, which had way too many stops and extended the drive...More

Though it was hard to reach.. I loved to stay in this beach. Snorkeling was fun too...the only thing that I didn't like is...the trash floating around the beach and the dock..People/traveler need to stop throwing away their trash into the water.

Mantanani island is a beautiful island. The water is really clear. If you're visiting it with a tour company, I highly recommend not using Mizume! Their service was terrible... Instead, try using Borneo Eco Tours or Amazing Borneo
