Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was fun, you need to get registered before. Can try your luck. It was addictive and we end up loosing some money. They don't allow you to take pictures inside and even make me delete one photo which I had taken accidentally.

Have been to Casino De Genting many times, more than 10 times a year. This is the older Casino, not the newer Sky Casino, which is a a 15 minute walk away.
The Casino De Genting now has nothing much to offer the Family...only gaming, Food : has a variety,
Casino: over the years, the casino has been attracting many older persons, mainly pensioners. While there are wins, very few do, My group has now refused to go up as 90% of them lose.Unlike in the past, many games allow you wins. Today, even free games give you tuppence! There are those who win A few thousands. Many lose. My nephew and wife just visited a week ago, they swear not to go up again for a long time.
My experience is the same. The casino has tightened the wins, that's why they made so much profits to fund their theme parks and other overseas ventures.
I will not go there again after a long time, except for food,
The casino has made it difficult to win.
Machines: some new some old Da Fu Da Gui are new machines: not popular, since many lose. The popular slots: you have no chance to play. Some roulette machines in VIP room are not functioning well... the screen is yellow in color, this has been like that for over six months. I wonder whether their maintenance do a check. Many places are now being changed to table games.
Smoking: you will smell as a few smoke, and your clothes stink! Why do they still allow this? Majority do jot smoke.
Free drinks: coke on and off being offered. Chrysanthemum brink: on and off. Milo: most popular.Distilled water, no more mineral water. You need to go to toilet more often.
ATM machines and cash machines: no worry, plenty.
Food: expensive, compared to downtown KL. RM 19 for wanton noodle! But ok if you use points.
Summary:
- not so good gaming experience compared to even three years ago.
Tend to lose.
This is the older casino.

No option to play without genting reward card. Nothing mentioned about this on their website. I changed my currency at very high conversion rate at the casino to play. I was told I need the card to play. The place where card is made, I was told that next appointment is after 6 hours. Those who were standing in queue also had to wait approx 1.5-2 hours as the queue was hardly moving. It all seemed like a bureaucratic government office. How can you expect international tourists to queue for so long just to get a stupid card. Really spoiled our day.

I am surprised to see that the minimum bets in Genting still affordable. Everything outside there have their price hike up but not Casino de Genting minimum bets. Although, the politician can't give any comment because this is gambling. However, i want to say this to the casino's management team: Low minimum bets attracts more visitors to the casinos, more people will eat at your restaurant outlets and more people will use the skyway. That utilize everthing in Genting.

We went here hoping for an amazing time, although we did have fun there a few things to be aware of.
If you western (international) you need to register to play in the casino that takes AGES. (1-2 hours)
It is FULL of Chinese people who spit everywhere (Inside included) They also have a tendency to stare at western women with no bother at all. I had to tell a couple of people who were really scaring my girlfriend.
There is no alcohol allowed in the casinos. The theme park outside is closed. The indoor attractions are very expensive and to top it all off the whole resort was full so we ended up in an apartment block down the road which was a pain. You have to cover up completely in casinos (no shorts etc), it is very cold up there.
Apart from that it was ok lol.
Hope this helps, feel free to hit the helpful button if it did.

My husband and I purchased a package to have a driver take us to Genting to spend a half day at the casino. It took two hours to arrive at the location from Kuala Lumpur. We were hoping after such a long drive that the experience would be worth it. However, we were denied entrance to the casino. They said it was because we didn't have our passports, but we were the only people asked for our passports. We believe they asked because of our race. Since we don't carry our passports with us just walking around, unless we know they are needed, and we weren't going to drive two hours back, we never entered the casino. The casino is in a mall and we tried to occupy our time by going to the stores, but there weren't many. We were truly disappointed, so much so, that we had another three days to be in Malaysia, but decided to return home even though we would lose money on the trip. If a passport is needed, this information should be on their website.

You must be above 21 to enter.
Great place and two floors of large number of slot machines, tables with Baccarat, roulette, etc.
Must make card first for new comers.
Complementary juices and beverages through vending machines.
Too much of smoke in the air.
Worth a visit once

Our experience was awful. We New Zealanders pride ourselves on being hospitable and tidy Kiwi’s. Even before entering the Casino the staff were not helpful at all. We felt frowned upon and looked down. We asked a question to try and understand the do’s and don’t and were told rudely to read instructions which were not at all in English. If they were we would not have asked the question.
When entering the Casino the overwhelming smoke was awful. We asked where the non smoking area was where a staff member who again treated us rudely pointed towards the middle of the floor. We walked through so much smoke before getting to the designated area for non smokers. It was disgusting.
Thought to use the toilet beforehand. These toilets were absolutely filthy. There were faeces floating in water throughout and urine all over the toilet seats. Busting to go to the toilet thought I would try another toilet. After visiting 3 others on sight which were no better I had to settle for the best of all. This whole experience made me gag. I raised the filthy toilets with 3 different staff and was told (my words and trying to be polite) they were clean enough. What on earth...
There were signs throughout the Casino that stated the slots games were some of the best in the world. Not sure who rated these but they were far from it.
This Casino was not only the worst we have visited and we have been to many all over the world.
Genting as a whole was AMAZING. Someone needs to do something about the Casino as it brings down down right down the experience which could be outstanding if the Casino standards were brought in line with the rest of the complex.
Don’t waste your precious money or time at the Casino. It is DISGUSTING and not English speaking friendly. Staff could do well by learning about customer service.
If we could post pictures we would but it was against the rules to take photos.

came here in june and took the cable car up. the line took about 45 minutes to get into the cable car. the cable car itself is really cool.
we went into the casino and wasnt very impressed. there are no bars in the casino, so you cant get a drink, everyone can smoke inside and they were ashing on the carpet. was pretty rank.
However, the precinct around it was pretty cool. they had movies, traditional food, international food and some cool bars.
Tip 1: Get the express ticket for 5 bucks aussie and you skip the queue for the cable car
Tip 2: Skip the casino and walk around the joint. there is heaps more to do than to lose ya money
