You can only visualize how big Lake Toba is only when you see it. It stretches in all expanses and houses an island that is bigger than Singapore in size. It is very scenic, full of natural beauty and hills surrounding it. After the rains, you can even see small waterfalls cropping up. There are multiple viewpoints in Parapat, Samosir... More

Lake Toba can be a hit-or-miss. If you head to the holidaymaker town of Parapat, it feels just like a normal lake. But if you head to the Northern end of Lake Toba around the fishing village of Tongging, the steep view is incredible! Also, don't forget to make a day trip into the Samosir Island which lies right in... More

Such a lovely place for a break from life... perfect for trip with either friends or families! You would enjoy so much out door activities here, from cycling, swimming, paragliding, jet skiing; while not forgetting to experience their special and unique local culture; as well as some of the best coffee beans are available here.

Yet I never have been there :( I just across the street next the lake to go to my parents home. We could see beautiful scenery of Toba lake from the street.. yet it will be greater if you (i mean me, :( huhu) make a stop there.
