Hi explorer 8, Although we did not go anywhere near Silangit airport, I am sure there would be a bus. They have mini buses that carry small numbers of people. I would google it if I were you and ask cheapest way to get to Parapat. ps it would be at least a few hours by road as we did weigh going that back from there to Singapore. Medan won out. 7 of us travelled by taxi on good roads to Medan. good luck and enjoy Lake Toba, just loved it.
