Will be lovely without the heaps of seaweed
Unfortunately, when we visited the beach, it was buried in seaweed, so the sandy area was cut off from the sea! The seaweed was piled high, which made it impossible for children to get across it for a paddle. There were also roadworks going on at the same time, which made access to the beach hazardous. I am sure it will be a lovely spot when all the work and debris are cleared away!

    Lovely beach
We really enjoyed our day at the beach. We hired sunbeds and umbrellas which were really good value compared to other places in Europe’s (€5 each). We were right beside a lovely beach bar so had access to food, drinks and toilets. The beach was clean and the water was lovely!

    Nice beach but very overcrowded!
A very nice beach, but after around 09:00 it becomes way too over crowded to the point you can’t move around! I do like the umbrellas and beds on offer but should not be so many of them as it takes 80% of the beach up which just ruins it. The water is nice to swim in. Overall nice beach to visit but defiantly more peaceful beaches I’d rather visit in Malta/Gozo/Comino. (My picture of the beach is at around 06:30am in the morning; as you can see lovely and quiet until the crowds and umbrellas arrive.

    Not a great beach
Beach was sandy, which is a rarity in Malta, but was busy (Thursday), and a bit grubby. Water contained a lot of weed. Paid 9 euro per sunbed, and dissapointed to have to walk 400 yards to the next bay for the toilets. Got some tasty chips from one of the shacks on the beach.

    Mellieha Bay Ghadira Bay
Quiet season for walking the coast. Mellieha Bay, Ghadira Bay? Call it what you want. It's just a lovely place to be. There is a small Starbucks to one side and a new, partially built, hotel to the left. Walks galore in all directions.

Mellieħa Beach: A Family Friendly Find
Mellieħa Beach offers a fantastic day out for families. The crystal-clear water is perfect for cooling off, and the shallow areas are ideal for little ones. Plenty of sunbeds are available, and the on-site snack bar is convenient. A lifeguard on duty adds peace of mind. While the beach is lovely, the proximity to the main road slightly detracts from the escape feeling.

    Not a great beach
Too crowded and water looks very dirty. Toilet facility at the beach is the worst. There was only 11 portaloo available in such a crowded area. There was also one tap / shower so there's always a queue meaning you can't take your time to clean up.

The best beach in Malta island
Beautiful clean beach and sea, fine sand, gradual entrance to the sea, also suitable for small children or elderly people. We were there in the second half of June and the water was warm, 25°C, no waves, no jellyfish. Lots of people, especially on the weekend, but you could always find free sunbeds and a place in the water where we didn't have anyone nearby. There are several stands for eating, I recommend Grioli Juniors and for sunbeds San Remo (blue umbrellas) - €18/umbrella and two sunbeds. Showers and toilets are free. You can get here from St.Pauls bay by bus 221 (the same way back).

    Beautiful mellieha
Lovely beach suitable for all the family. Yes there are ciagrette stubs but other than that we found it mainly clean with bins everywhere if needed. Sand is soft (very hot!) There's a small board walk and showers. Limited changing facilities and we found one portacabin toilet. Lots of sunbeds to hire we paid €17 for 2. Sea is clear and shallow but still swimmable. There was a lifeguard present too. Food places, inflatable shops and activities. Would definitely recommend it was beautiful.

    Excellent Throughout 😎👌
30 brilliant dives, with brilliant fully customer focused staff, deserved of their 5 STAR affectionately used "A-Team" label 😊 Turbulent seas did not thwart delivery of dives, as their constant monitoring of marine site meteorological data enabled diving in leeward conditions of local land features 😁👌 Wrecks.🛳 reefs, caves, tunnels, swim-throughs, daily changing sealife 🐟🐍 all added to the enjoyment of boat 🛥🚤 and shore dives. Thank you all at Seashell Dive Centre, Mellieha, Malta 😎 👌 🇲🇹 ❤️

As Malta has a predominately rocky coastline we decided to venture out to find a decent beach. A short 20min bus ride from St Paul's Bay getting off at bus stop Skrajda directly opposite the beach. Loads of sunbeds and brollys (which include the sunbed mattresses which a lot of beaches don't have). Beach is split into 2 areas I assume by who are running the bed sales. We used the yellow beds and brollys on the right hand side of the beach which cost €5 each which is reasonable and they are comfy. There is a life guard on beach and public toilets but never seems to be any toilet roll so be prepared! Snack bar selling hot food and cold drinks including alcohol at fairly reasonable prices for a beach. What more do you need!
The sea is crystal clear here without any rocks and is very shallow so you can walk out a long way which is ideal for kids. If your looking to snorkel I'd head towards the rocks at the far side or head out to deeper water as there's not much apart from golden sand and clear sea but the odd few fish.
Overall we thought it was a cracking beach especially if your craving that sandy beach to get away from the standard Malta rocky coastline.

One does not have many options in Malta, and from this perspective it is perhaps the best beach in Malta. We payd 15 euro for two sunbeds, for the day (we received no receit though). There are a few good restaurants near the beach and one can find good transportation by bus to the beach and to the city. We used Uber most of the time (better than Bolt). The water is very clean and I recommend this beach if one has little children as we did.

Such a shame that this beach was virtually packed to the brim with sun loungers and shades (in some places 8 deep). Completely spoilt the beach with only a tiny area for people like us who didn’t want to pay extortionate prices for these services. We actually found this an issue with all the beaches we visited in Malta. There should be far more stringent regulations. Very disappointing. We also visited the Blue Lagoon and only stayed for an hour as it was packed, no where to sit and over commercialised.

Fabulous beach with great restaurant Il Pirates, warm water, even in September and sandy beach strip. Shortcomings here are the ugly construction to the left, spoiling half of the experience, lack of beach service - one should be picking the drinks himself and the nearby road, which is usual for Malta island beaches. Sunsets for 2 are €15.

It's a great place to get a tan and be in some sort of clear water. Malta does not have that many options when it comes to beaches, so we settled for the biggest and most popular one. Typical 5 Euros per bed 5 euros for the umbrella...packed tightly next to 100 other lounging umbrella spots.

There are some pretty spots lots of restaurants and kayaks and jet skis...but keep in mind there will be many people there, and its not a spectacular place.

We managed to find sun beds and umbrella easily during the week. The cost was €5 euro per bed and €5 for the umbrella. The staff wasn't very nice though. There weren't many bins around, no ashtrays provided and the only toilet you can use for the price of €1 was a portable one which was disgusting and not clean. The beach is an average one overall. What you can do is have a seat at the free zone, bring your own drinks and food and stay away from the little beach bars.

I loved. So far my favorite in Malta. It is in the north, accessible by bus that stops at the "door". For 15 euros you rent two sun loungers and an umbrella (a friendly guy comes to you to collect, and you can pay in cash or card). Very calm, beautiful sea, perfect water temperature. I will come back

Very good solution for hot days in Malta. A breath of fresh air, to continue your exploration of the beautiful island Organized beach, with shallow waters, family friendly. It has canteens where you can get various snacks, ice creams, coffees, etc. The access by bus is very easy and the price for 1 set of sunbeds and umbrella is 15 euros. The minuses are that the beach closes at 6 pm and that the sunbeds are extremely close to each other!

We picked to stay here because we wanted to travel to Gozo and Comono. Lovely little village with a nice centre with
varied shops and eateries, albeit a big hill to get up. Use the excellent bus service with one of the bus passes you can be, cheap and easy travel and frequent reliable services. If you want busy bars and night life, one of the more southern resorts would probably suit you, but this area was perfect for us and we will be going back.

Sadly we visited in early April, the beach was far from " tourist ready " piles of seaweed being dredged up from the shoreline.
Diggers all over the beach, piling the seaweed up and trucks loading it up and taking it away.
At one point the sun loungers were laid out but the shoreline was coned off, not a sight you see every day !
At the same time, the road was being dug up for pipe laying, and so that was rammed with workmen, diggers, etc, not a good time to visit.
Work was still ongoing when we left 10th April 2022.
