It was a great area some years ago but now the restaurants and shops have mostly closed. The rents were too high apparently. The small restaurants that do remain are actually very good and the owners are extremely friendly so if staying in the area, these are worth a visit just for the food, drinks and friendly service!

The once central focal point of Maspalomas is now in a real sorry state of affairs as it sadly crumbles away. This is now a scene of decay and boarded up shops. There are a couple of shops, a few restaurants and bars and a supermarket. There is no real point in going unless you want to witness the collapse... More

Returned here with friends to see if it had been regenerated, but no still as dead as a do do. There are some shops and restaurants but we did not stay longer than a quick glance around. It is eerie. You might think you had landed on a film set on its day off.

Saw this centre from a distance and looked impressive but on arrival found it to be like a ghost town. 99 percent closed or about to close. Don't bother going.

We were staying near to Faro 2 so seemed reasonable to take a look around. Only a few shops and restaurants open, the rest of the place was deserted but still had the usual shopping centre musak playing which made the place even more surreal and eerie. Would be perfect for one of those Zombie scenes from a horror movie.... More

I expected it to be worse. Yes, for the last years it is looking like the scenario of a zombie apocalypse. Most of stores are closed and the general atmosphere is really sad. But there are some restaurants open during the day with some tourists on the terraces and it makes the shopping center look a little bit happier.

This shopping centre is more than 3/4 empty. However, there are a couple of places to eat that good and prices are reasonable. There is a Hipo Dino with a good choice and good opening hours. You can also find a bike rental place here. It's a real shame the majority of the units here are empty.

It's so sad to seen the state of Faro2. Looks to be beyond repair, everywhere it's crumbled concrete, cracked tiles, empty shops and restaurants. There is only a few survivors left, but I can't help to wonder for how long. Visited only one of the restaurants, El Nublo (excellent food and service) and the HiperDino which is quite well stocked.... More
