Unusually graceful interior with notable lack of adornment adds to drama of this historic church. Huge fluted columns support multi vaulted ceiling. Interior contains 2 notable tombs of former king & queen with tragic history. Rear of church contains stunning example of traditional local style...More

A church full of light. Simple gothic. I wish there had been a guide to explain the complex history that the church holds.

Another amazing monastery in Portugal. The one has the story of forbidden love and the tombs now face each other. The kitchen and oven really amazed us. This is not a place to rush through. The towns is also very beautiful.
