One of the most popular beautiful train journeys in Norway. The 50-minute ride offers spetacular views along the way, particularly the Kjosfossen waterfalls where the train stops for photo-shoot is remarkably beautiful.

This is the most beautiful train ride in the world. I absolutely loved it. Scenic mountains, huge expanses of water and waterfall on the way. It was nice for the train to stop for 5 minutes for us to take out photos. Absolutely loved it!

We took the train as part of a trip to the Scottish Islands and Norwegian Fjords. The views from the train were as spectacular as advertised.

1 hr up & 1 hr back, this charming train trip affords wonderful scenery despite the rain and clouds. The carriages are very comfortable and spacious. There is a brief stop to allow views/photos of an impressive waterfall. The end station of Myrdal is nothing...More

The railway is an engineering marvel and a tourist's nightmare. The set up is as follows: there is a window with 2 sets of three seats, which face each other. Of those 6 seats per window, only the 2 closest to the window get much...More

Remarkable views @ every turn. The startling mountain terrain views are expansive with many waterfalls descending in perfect form to the valleys below. Don't miss this one of a kind trip.

Having heard about the spectacular scenery observed from the train, we were keen to include this attraction on our brief stop in Flam as part of a cruise itinerary. I had checked the prices for independent travel and although these were significantly cheaper than the...More

We are staying in Flam and would like to take the Flam railroad to Myrdal and then continue on to Oslo. My questions are 1) can we still get the fun waterfall stop that I've read others enjoy or am I going in the 'wrong direction' 2) can we catch a train to Oslo? 3) Can I purchase all of this beforehand ASAP?

yes to all 3, norwegian rail website, for both tickets, look at visitflam site for cost and timetable, and coordinate the myrdal to oslo train time, the first half hour or so from myrdal will delight you. have fun. easy.
I'd like to do the train journey and will be there in July on a Cunard cruise with the QM2. What l don't understand is why Cunard are charging twice the amount charged by the local railway company. Is that Cunard just being greedy and making a lot of money or is there something extra they offer?
