I love boats. I love tall ships. My wife and family.... ehhh, maybe not so much. My opinion is that this is a great stop to visit whilst at the sea. If you are expecting a "magnificent show" or a lot of pomp and circumstance, you will be disappointed. Hours are quirky, so confirm before making plans to visit.

If anything positive for Denmark came out of the Second War of Schleswig in 1864, it was the succesful naval action against the Austrian-Prussian fleet in the Battle of Heligoland on 9 May 1864. After some 10 years of restoration of the frigate Jutland, billed as the world' longest wooden ship, visitors to the quaint seaside town of Ebeltoft can... More

By the harbour, in nice and quiet Ebeltoft, you will find the world's longest wooden ship, "Fregatten Jylland". It is very well preserved, and you are able to enter it, to discover all features on all decks. The location is beautiful, and has a couple of nice, affordable restaurants.

The ship looks a lot better from the outside than inside. While the main deck cabin areas are restored quite nicely and maintained, the lower decks are not so nice - probably as it was when this was a working warship. The cannon deck with its full array of cannon is quite impressive. The several "wax" reconstructions of sailors going about... More

Beautiful restored wooden warship. Walking through the wooden belly of the ship, you can still smell the fire for the steam engine, and you can actually feel the harsh conditions the people had to work and live in. Very impressive.

A renovated, old, wooden, war frigate. Impressive in size. About £12 entrance fee however. We just looked from the outside where you can get great views, quite close up. There's a cafe/restaurant next door and a good car park. The rest of the harbour is filled with a range of boats including another smaller sail ship that has also been... More

The vessel is worth a visit. All the history is truely amazing, and that this vessels has been in real war and action is highly facinating. But the exhibition area needs to be updated. 2 out of 3 activities didn't work, and the vessel was very poorly cleaned from ongoing work. Spikes and building stuff was widesperad over the vessel... What was best? The briliant guided tour, the great exhibition telling the story of many sailors that took this ship into battle, the treasure hunt for the kids, or indeed strolling around the fantastically restored battle ship itself. Don't let me tell you - decide for yourself!

Amazing restoration of a battle ship. It consists from a museum dedicated mainly to history but also explanations and full visualization of being on aboard and a true battle ship from the danish 17th century navy that has 4 levels - from the machins rooms in the bottom thru the living level of the crue and public areas thru the...
