I will not lie to you, the first stretch up the mountain is tough! But the reward for pushing on is great. The views are indescribable and will leave you in awe of the beauty of the mountain. From Kufstein it is a 2 day hike to the Stripsenjoch. We stayed in Kaindl Hutte the first night, but if you... More

You will be tired after the first time hiking in the mountains, but its worth it for the view and effort is good for your health as we all know I personally like the trail that starts at the edge of Ebb's / Kufstein which is on Kaiseraufstieg. Its very well sign posted and has different levels for all

My teenaged son wanted to hike in the Alps during our visit. He had no idea what he was getting into but totally enjoyed the experience. He hiked the Kaisertal mountain outside Kufstein for six hours and the photos he brought back were incrediable. Not for the out of shape or faint of heart.

A lovely area to walk, has terrains for all levels, from mountains to valleys. Great scenery and plenty of places to stop off and relax.

The pleasure of accidentally discovering this town was indescribable. I was supposed to head from Vienna to Munich. I was in the wrong half of the train. This half was heading to Innsbruck. When I looked at this station from outside the window of my train, it was so beautiful that I decided to skip an extra day in Munich... More

It was a breath taking event. I was taken by a special lift on the mountain. Then my teacher showed me how to start. 'Eagle's claw' is the name of foot breaks when you want to stop. Steep mountain with snow, ...I managed it! It was very interesting. Just follow instructions carefully. Otherwise you fall to a bad accident. After... More

Only there for a weekend but had a lovely stroll through Niederau up to Oberau on the path of contemplation with its beautiful sculptures one day and then up on the Niederau gondola and a warming lunch in the restaurant just below the top station whose name I have forgotten!

I wanted to walk mountains in the Tirol as deep snow had not yet arrived. But the Information Office was stuck on its " Winter Walks" programme, refusing to give out maps for higher areas( which it turned out were being walked by locals). The senery was lovely when I followed suite, with good signage.

Had a great experience hiking here, great mountains, fresh air and scenery. Lots of shops to get cool drinks also. Felt very safe here and loved the different routes which are marked out. A wonderous area for exploring, bring your camera too. You would need to spend the best part of a day here. Give yourself plenty of time for... More

The hiking in Wikden Kaiser area of Austria is outstanding, with good clearly marked routes and plenty of refreshment stops available.
