Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This church is in front of the square. The church looks small but pretty; but it’s important to pay the 1 euro for the Treasury. It’s not just a collection of chalices, reliquaries and chasubles; it’s also the very old romanic apse of the church, with a remarkable baroque altarpiece.

An impressive building but when we were there in December it was locked. We were staying at the nearby hotel and thought we could just drop in. No impact on us and we were not put out.
So if you're going there especially check the opening times.

The Church of Saint Nicholas was built in 1853, on the site of a 15th century church. It is the largest church in the Konavle Region.
This church, and village, was devastated during the war, however, has been restored to its former glory. There is a church service every Sunday Morning. This is right before the folklore music and dancing performance.
You could make a morning of it as there are a couple of cafés and stalls selling local products, and a museum.

Visited the church having walked from nearby Cavtat. Met at the door by a lady who was custodian of the church. She was a local lady who told stories how life was like during the war in the nineties. She spoke with a passion on how she became a refugee trying to reach safety. It appears that she talks to all visitors about the church and village life. Very interesting to listen to and the service she provides is free of charge but I made a donation to church funds. A beautiful church and a very interesting woman with moving stories to tell. A must do when in the area.

By visiting this church you can meet a middle-aged lady, so speak good English and who enjoy sharing the terrible time during the war in the 90s. We got the story of what happened in this village, with the church and her personal experiences. Hon is one of the few we met in Croatia who wanted to talk about the war. It was a very powerful experience!

We went on a trip to the local folk lore event but arrived in time to attend mass at this lovely church. The local children were singing, and despite not understanding the language we still felt a warm welcome in this place.

A beautiful church in a lovely area. We watched the traditional music and dance after mass and it is well worth the visit. There is a small charge to watch the dancing, but seating is provided and most of it is in the shade of the trees. There are a number of restaurants and cafes.. Buses and taxis are available at a very reasonable rate. The church bells are very loud!!!

Saint Nicholas Church and the folk singing and dancing to follow is certainly a gem in the beautiful region. We attended a 1000 Mass at the church and afterwards (at 1115), there was traditional singing and dancing on the church steps. During the summer, this happens every Sunday. There is also a small open air market where they sell handwoven goods. The price of admission is 50 KN and it is an overall fantastic cultural experience. It is appropriate for small children.

Short drive from the airport, we paid 50 Kuna each, this includes entry, small shot of the local spirit, museum entrance and traditional dance show. There's a small collection of stalls selling locally made goods, a collection of bars/coffee houses, this is a good way to spend a couple of hours, and understand the history of the local area. The church was locked, not sure if this is the norm. Overall very pleasant.

Charming church at cilipi , following a 2.5 hr walk from Cavtat. The church & bell is central to Cilipi's large square. Quite a few useful nterpretation boards which outline the history. Should you decide to listen to the local guide story of the recent civil war be aware the descriptive nature can be gruesome.
