Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The old town of Frascati is charming & well worth a visit. The cathedral is stunning & is surrounded by small streets filled with cafes & shops. Well worth staying in Frascati or visiting from Rome.

The church is free to enter. There are some information plaques but not a whole lot. Having seen the cistene chapel there is no comparison!

We stayed in Frascati for 5 nights. Such a wonderful small city. Especially loved strolling around in the evening. Restaurants and shops do close down from approximately 3 pm till 6:30 pm! A short train ride into Rome (30 minutes). Trains are excellent, nothing like what we have in NY, and cheap!! Round trip cost $4.80! Saturday night was a bit busier with more street activies; a wine tasting event, a magician! Lots of fun and great gelato! Prices are less than in Rome too, and not crowded!

Train, bus or rental car for a 39 mile trip to Frascati. A beautiful town with an old world charm worthy of the short journey from bustling Roma. Plan on many local restaurants where deliveries of fresh veggies, meats and fish arrive throughout the day.
Local wines & gelato (or sorbet for non dairy folks) - all are fresh and delicious. Ample recommendations available for tours, restaurants and BEST Ice cream choice on line OR easily the best site of course, TripAdvisor a one stop shop.

We were based in the hotel Colonna for the week and each evening explored the town. Frascati is in the Alban hills, a short ride from Rome but totally unspoilt by tourism. All the restaurants serve local food and wine and are frequented by locals. There is a wine bar and a couple of cafes serving (good old English) tea and cakes. The views from the town are stunning, particularly at night, and you can see for miles. The town is quiet and packed with small shops serving the local inhabitants and stuffed with large and small eateries.

While the weather on the day we visited this town was good, the smog haze over Rome killed the view. We didn't bother to go into the duomo given how many we had also visited. Fairly small storico with the highlight being the modern, attractive cafes scattered throughout it.

Frascati will amaze you with its Roman intense vibe. The hill offers a incomparable city view, fresh air and an incredible choice of splendid restaurants or local trattoria. Food, wonder Frascati wine, lovely ancient places like villa Aldobrandini or Tuscolana. Every spot is just enchanted. Enjoy your Roman holiday!

A nice small village few km of Rome... He have some home wine distillery’s but first must have make a reservation to visit-it ( 15-25 € with 4 classes of wine tasting and some traditional food...)
Explore some free entrance villas like a Aldobrandini...
- Recommend to visit only with rented car.

A great little town. We just happened to be there on a wine tasting day which was fun. Definitely worth a visit to get out of Rome. Only an hour on the train with nice countryside along the way.

Is there a train or bus that I can take from Rome to Frascati? How long is the trip?
Thanks!

Their is trains that run every 30 minutes from Rome central station to Frascati and vice versa. They are convenient and inexpensive. You can reach Rome central station by Metro.

Flying into FCO. Is there a train to Frascati? Have two days before our tour in Rome starts and wanted to spend sometime in the country outside Rome but we won't have a car and after flying in from the States don't want to spend more than an hour on the road to Frascati.

I seem to remember there were a few direct trains from Termini, but most left from Tiburtina station. Just take the metro there and then grab the train from there. I think they are every hour from there.
