About
The Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum narrates the life of Ferruccio through his mechanical creations and a vast archive of family’s photos. This place, conceived and founded by the entrepreneur Tonino Lamborghini to celebrate his father, was inaugurated in 2014. Inside 9,000 sqm. the Museum holds all the industrial productions of the Doctor of Engineering (Hon. Causa) Lamborghini, from the first Carioca tractor which started his company in 1947, to the most important tractors of the ‘50s,’60s and ‘70s. An emotional journey will let you admire Ferruccio’s personal cars collection, like the fabulous Miura SV, and many other famous cars, like the Fiat Barchetta Sport, modified to participate in the 1948 Mille Miglia competition, the futuristic Countach, Jarama models, Urracos and the Espada with seagull wing doors that inspired the car of the Back to the Future movie. The Museum will also offer you a glimpse of two special stories: the helicopter prototype and the 11-times world champion Fast 45 Diablo Class 1 offshore boat, 13.5 meters long with Lamborghini engines. The reconstruction of Ferruccio’s first office at Lamborghini Tractors company with his personal effects, official documents and photos of the period will help you discovering not only his life, but also the story of his family and of the people who worked for his companies during the Italian economic boom in the late ’50s-‘60s.

The cars are beautiful for sure, but there’s really not much to do here. About a dozen and a half cars in a gorgeous, glass-walled space, a racing simulator for an extra fee, and a gift shop that sold incredibly overpriced swag. The factory floor tours only run sporadically, and not at all the entire month we were there, but perhaps they add more value to the trip. As it is, it was a lot of money for the 30 minutes we spent there.

Great museum with so much to look at including tractors to cars to bikes as well as other brands and 3d metal frames of Lamborghini's. Only 1 of 3 people viewing yesterday afternoon which was surprising. Nicely laid out and spacious. Friendly staff that spoke great English. Highly recommend.

the Lamborghini Museum is an unmissable destination for car enthusiasts and anyone with an interest in the world of motoring. The collection of cars on display, the history of the company and the overall experience offered are exceptional. It is a must-see for anyone visiting the Bologna region and wanting to learn more about the Lamborghini brand. I look forward to returning in the future to see the new additions to the collection and to relive the excitement of Lamborghini. In the photo I am with Fabio Lamborghini

Gleaming white, dust free building. Fantastic grounds. Factory is here too. As noted, the museum is two floors and only has a dozen or so vehicles…But incredible vehicles. I took the bus from Bologna out here(1.3 hrs). 10 minute walk from bus stop. Bus was easy but not fancy considering my destination! Part of my motivation for this visit was the recent movie. Yes, it’s worth the trip.
After my tour a taxi was dropping off a group so I was able to get it and ride 20 minutes and go to Ferrari Museo too. Next time, I’ll also have a Maserati go

Enormous thrill I came at breath distance with machines I admired from a young child. Which was inspired by an amazing creator Feroutio !!!! The old machinery, the office, the forklifts, the cars, the motorcycles, the boat, the engines. The prototypes, the photos, the smell of the oil of the grease of the metal of the skin!!!!!!!!! Incredible marketing!!!!!

Excellent Lamborghini museum that is housed in the old tractor factory. Lots non Lamborghini cars like Range Rover, Alfa Romeo, Ford Mustang that was owned by the Lamborghini family. Nice office with original items of Ferrucio. Loads of tractors too.

When we were planning our Spring Break trip to Italy, I noticed that Lamborghini, Ferrari and Pagani are all close to Bologna -- which is an easy day trip from Florence. The new high-speed Trenitalia line will get you there in just 35 minutes for ~30 euros in Premium class. So my wife agreed to a "Guys Day" in the land of supercars.

First, there are two Lamborghini museums: the factory museum, and the Lamborghini family museum. The factory was closed for Easter week, but the Lamborghini family museum wasn't open yet -- they moved to a new building and the grand opening was scheduled two weeks later. Fortunately our guide, Francesco Bini at Motorstars.org, knew who to call.

We arrived and were greeted by Fabio Lamborghini, the nephew of Ferruccio -- the famous founder. He gave us a personal tour, full of stories about the tractors that gave Ferruccio his start, his first race car, the famous Countach, the helicopter (yes, a Lamborghini helicopter!) and the record setting boat with monster 12 cylinder engines. It became clear that Ferruccio was the Steve Jobs of 'mobile' technology at the time, a real genius with anything that contained an engine. (Some photos are attached.)

I am sure the Lamborghini factory museum is great, but the family collection provides insight into the history behind the now-famous supercars. I came away with much more appreciation and respect for Ferruccio's vision and accomplishments. Fabio's kind offer to give us a personal tour before the new museum opened was also memorable.

This is a definite must-see if you visit the Florence / Bologna area. I strongly recommend the expert guide who introduced us to Fabio -- and took us through Museo Ferrari, the Pagani assembly line and a few laps behind the wheel of a Ferrari F430 Scuderia at Autodromo di Modena race track: Francesco Bini at Motorstars.org. Francesco worked at Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani, and seems to know everyone in the industry, every car, every engine and part. We saw things we would not have otherwise, and Francesco's knowledge was very helpful. I found him on TripAdvisor, and now we know why he has very high ratings!

A note on the trains from Florence to Bologna: This was the first time for us, and we had no problems. Buy your tickets ahead of time online from Trenitalia; they can sell out, even in Premium and Business class. The new high-speed line gets you there in just 35 minutes, which makes a day trip easy. We left at 7:30 and returned at 6. Fares are low, and the new trains are better than the Accela in the US. Francesco picked us up at the Bologna Centrale station and provided the transport to Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.

I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.

We found out about this museum on a car forum where numerous people were raving about their visit. The museum does not have opening hours. You have to call or email the owner/director who will open it for you and give you a tour ! (fabio.lamborghini@libero.it).
The museum is quite out of the way, so take a map, but it's well worth the visit. It's housed in a lovely building, which is crammed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of Lamborghini's, from the early tractors, to all the classic cars, many prototypes and even a helicopter!
However what made the tour was Fabio himself ! Nephew of Ferruccio Lamborghini, he was a lovely man, impeccably dressed and told some great stories. He takes you round each item and tells you about the history and why it is important, it was fascinating.
If you are in the area and like cars, then you have to visit, it's €15 well spent and you get to see some beautiful cars !

Personal and friendly tour of the family museum - got an inept history tour - loved it worth a trip from Milan over the day - be sure to book your visit - limited tours only on request - one of my favorite car museums (have been to BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari and other Lamborghini).

Well.............. What can I say?

Fabio Lamborghini gave us a personal tour of Ferruccio Lamborghini's personal Museum. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences we have had in Italy (a country we love so much and have had many beautiful times).

Fabio took his time to explain Lamborghinis proud history, it was genuinely heart warming to hear of such ingenious and passion to be the best. We will never forget this brilliant opportunity.

I believe the factory in Dosso will know be closed for good(September 2013) but don't worry everything is moved to a larger museum closer to Bologna (which will be much easier to get to).

Take some extra cash to buy some merchandise. We bought signed memorabilia and some Lamborghini wine, Fantastico.

We will be back many times.

Thank You Fabio
