It is the oldest university for Buddhists learning, It is roughly 40-45 kms always from bhagalpur, best time to visit this place is during the month of November

I visited this hisatorical place twice. There is a number of monuments like building which gives complete idea about architectures of vikramshila university. There is main stupa at the centre made up of stones.

You feel like coming to this place again and again. Though the road is rough yet it is worth the pain. The ruins reminds you of the glorious past/history and fills you with pride. A must visit for the first timers.

Apart from Nalanda University, these ruins are another site of academic excellence of ancient and medieval Bihar. It is a huge area mostly depicting Buddhist heritage. It is a well kept site. It looks like a monastery. Worth seeing.
