Fun ancient town with winding narrow streets. Worth an hour walkabout down and up the hill. Parking at the square on top is available.

A perfect medieval Village,so may beautiful buildings and fantastic views, the poppies hanging on the old walls were beautiful,a place I could easily live if the climate was warmer in the winter, locals all greet each other happily, the travelling bread man was certainly very busy,as people rushed to him after a few toots on his horn.

Nice little village 20 mins drive from Salamanca. We spent a couple of hours just walking about and having a beer. You can see the Celtic influences starting to appear in this part of Spain and it feels much more Northern European.

It isn´t a special monument but its location, near the river, makes its it very pleasant to relax a bit.

Did the self directed tour this week which consists of following a series of markers around this hilltop medieval village. Halfway round stumbled upon a local tapas bar with outdoor seating in order to enjoy your food and cerveza in the sunshine. Stunning views and medieval architecture , not a soul on the many winding streets.

We were staying at the Hacienda Zorita about 30k away so paid a visit. We drove into the town and parked outside the church. Then we discovered round the corner the Plaza Mayor which had parking. This town is SO quiet it seems as though hardly anybody lives there. We only saw about 10 people in total during our self-led... More

Expect to be quiet in this lovely mediaeval village, but meet the locals who are willing to help and tell you some stories. Get the key for the castle next door at a small cafeteria. You can wonder around this village for about 1-2 hrs.

We stopped at Hacienda Zorita then Ledesma on our way out to the Duero from Salamanca. We parked down the bottom and walked up into the little town but could easily have driven up and parked. There was something going on at the church, maybe a christening, but our mid morning search for a café was fruitless and we soon... More
