Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed a stay at Anapuri villas.
The beach is black, waters at times rough, tourists don’t seem to use it bit stick to the private pools of their villas but locals often come down in the early evening for a walk or swim.

Black sand beach, and because of that it's less touristy, which is good. Lots of local since I went during the weekend which is nice.

If you are looking for a sport to surf, this Ketewel beach is good for you. It is 10 minutes from Hidden Canyon and Art market of Guwang. There is also a nice cafe named Black Sands Coffee & Eatery, they served Good Food with Good Price, nice decor and friendly service. Very recommended for surfer and Art Lover, Those who avoid traffic and hustle bustle is urged to stay within this Area, they are view nice villas at good price.

Ketwel beach is a small local beach with black sand frequented by surfers, beach walkers with dogs and fisherman. Actually very nice and quiet with huge waves at times BUT at the moment (or many times) cluttered with plastic, other waste and death animals (dogs, cats, fish). Unfortunately just two beach clubs have been built there and both are closed: La Palma beach Club and Home beach. Two local warungs still serve Bali coffee, Coca Cola and some snacks. In the back is a ruin of a market some technocrats build 4 years ago there for nobody-knows-what-reason. It was never used and wild dogs are living there now.

If you wanna get some rest and avoid the hippie surfers occuppying the beaches on the south, this is actually a good option. The sand is black and you are able to see the volcano that actually caused it. The beach is used mainly by locals which is mirrored in the prices of food and refreshments in the surroundings. The only problem is the locals leave their trash right on the place they used it... and nobody cleans it. But that is a problem of the entrance mainly. A few steps ahead it is already OK.

& cool, with waves that every surfer dreams of. This black sand beach looks just like soot, & is so soft, but doesn't dirty your feet like you would think. It was interesting to see the women working with the coral. Worth a look to see something different.
