About
TEMPORARILY CLOSED - We will be re-opening in Autumn 2020. Nestled on the eucalypt clad slopes of Mt Macedon is a truly remarkable oasis of beauty. Undulating across 7.5 acres of sweeping lawns, lakes and trees, with vibrant seasonal colours. Chooks, geese and ducks roam free around these magnificent grounds, which are suitable for young and old alike. Bring a picnic and meet with friends, or enjoy the peaceful ambience under a tree with a good book. While wandering the gardens you can watch the birds frolic around two lakes; one arched by a Monet style bridge, and the other ladened with water lilies. Wander through the stunning perennial walk, sit down under the romantic rose arbour, discover a variety of beautiful flowers or explore ‘Treasure Island’, where a cubby house, slide and sand pit sit among a fern glade. We look forward to welcoming you into our beautiful garden.

Nice walk though the gardens lots of little spots to discover. Not too steep and directions were easy to follow. There is a few spots for the kids to play and explore. The geese seemed friendly on the lake.
We visited both gardens in the same morning

The only reason for rating this venue as 'terrible' at present is that it is no longer open, pending sale.
A most unfortunate situation as it is one of Mt Macedon's best (formerly) open gardens.

If you want to spend $10 on entry go to the gardens across the road further up.
This place still has beautiful gardens but $2 entry would be justifiably compared to other gardens in the area.

What a wonderful walk. Such beauty. Well thought out and cared for. Well worth it. The cockatoo head spin at the end was the cherry on the top of a great morning.

Spring is also a great time to visit the beautiful garden. Toulouse geese with their baby swimming across the lake. Ducks with little ducklings looked so lovely. We have seen chickens. Spring flowers are in full colour. Families with children are having a wonderful time.

Beautiful well cared for gardens. Visiting in spring to see all the flowers in bloom was amazing. Children's play area at the back is fun for kids. I was happy to pay $10 entry fee with kids free to enjoy this very special hidden garden. I enjoyed the lakes, wondering geese and chickens and flowers and trees I look forward to going back. Take a picnic and enjoy!

Came here with 3 children and 4 adults.
The gardens were BEAUTIFUL.
You don't need long here and they could do with a coffee shop.
People bought picnics - we didn't but there was a cafe down the road.
$10 in / free for kids.
I actually found that quite steep despite the gardens being beautiful.

On the drive to Mount Macedon, we were looking for Gardens to visit and saw the Gardens of Tieve Tara in an Information brochure. So one afternoon we called in. Soon discovered the beauty of the garden. Daffodils and Jonquils were out in bloom. Also other ares such as the Lakes and also the Photogenic Bridge over the lake. The staff were very helpful.
